We play UGA and Bama the same time every year...your argument is retarded.

When did I mention Georgia and Alabama in the part that you quoted? I was talking about Top 10 opponents period. You could play one in your season opener, September, or October. Then what?

Gus certainly did a great job. But the OP is the exact reason why I think Pinkel was more impressive. Pinkel is coaching almost exclusively 3 stars whereas Gus is coaching top 10 recruiting classes. Pinkel corrected his OWN mistakes with his own players and won the division and 11 games. Gus corrected someone else's mistakes with someone else's players. Gus did a great job, but I think Pinkel was more impressive.

Look at Frank Haith (Mizzou BB coach). You all dog him all the time for having other coaches players, being a bad coach, blah blah blah when he won 30 games in his first season. He then was unimpressive in his next season with his own guys. Who says Gus won't be the same way?

Gus recruited a vast majority of the players that got playing time.

Gus wouldn't make mistakes

And isn't the reason y'all are so much better bc you got back hurt players?

Took a team that was dismal last year and coached them to a possible BCSNC.....

Yeh, I think he did an okay job

Haven't even read through this thread, your theory is absurd. While talented, he inherited a team who had totally quit on Chiz. The team had no discipline or work ethic, and getting them to buy in so quickly is amazing.

Saban inherited the same problems at Alabama, and went 6-6. You can say that Shula didn't recruit well, but Shula's recruits provided the foundation for turn around season the next year and the National Title season the next year (especially on the OL which was the core of the team).

Would you sit down at Jordan-Hare Stadium if Alabama were 3-8 and facing a #1 AU team and watch diligently as AU drums them to a tune of 49-0 or would you leave and not watch?

I'd think you'd leave.

I would probably leave the stadium but this guy is claiming he didn't even watch it.

So Pinkel is better because he can't recruit higher ranked talent? Isn't a sign of a good coach that he can recruit as well?

Has any team gone from 3 wins to the national championship ever? That should answer your question.
