I have been lurking on this board since way back in 2010 when Bluetuna, Frisco, Bamabell and the rest of the over the top crazy "As the plains burn" folks were at their peak on Tigerdroppings.

This is my first official post as I signed up to respond to a thread a few days ago but didn't get activated until today.

I believe the combination of "The Mulligan" leading into "21-0" was by far the greatest melt. It was fueled by the higher percentage of LSU fans on the rant as well as the fact that the LSU fanatics swagger grew with the team's swagger as they progressed through the season. Alabama shouldn't have gotten a second shot, but they made the most of it and it allowed two meltdowns to merge into one. Much like the Northeastern Storm famously called "THE PERFECT STORM"

Those melts merged to create "THE PERFECT MELT".

Korin…

Stole it from another guy until I can find something that matches my personality. I have had 4 days to mess around with my account waiting to be activated. Didn't think through the "Signature aspect" I will try to get something more my own...

There is no doubt it was 21-0. I think it started from the moment the game was announced, but when Landon Collins announced he was going to Alabama, all hell broke loose on the recruiting board.

Was he the one that pissed off his mom during the UA game?

His brother did the same thing this year. Believe Gerald picked the gators though.

I had a pretty solid melt after this, and we won. Can't imagine how pissed Vols fans were, especially since they pretty much led throughout this game.

This is the biggest melt of all because it was complete from both sides. LSU who won might have melted even more. A win never felt so frustrating.

This started a rivalry between the fan bases.. a rivalry that is exclusive to the SECr however.

If I were a bama fan I'd be embarrassed that you had to have: Saban begging on national TV, the national media all kneeling in front of Saban pushing for a "redo" or a "do-over", and most sickeningly shameful, the fact that at least 6 BCS human poll voters actually DROPPED Oklahoma State to 5th or 6th after they annihilated Oklahoma for the Big 12 title.

If stating what actually happened that caused an undeserving 3rd place SEC team to be 'placed' in the NCCG ahead of a conference champion with a much stronger SOS is 'melting', than so be it.

I call it a much more plausible name - the truth.

Wow, dude! You have some unresolved mental issues.

Remember that time when Saban begged on tv that his team belonged in the title game because they were undefeated in regulation?
Oh wait.

Remember that one time Meyer left Florida because of a broken heart when Tebow left.

I think that was the biggest melt, right after the seccg if I'm not mistaken?

ATPB was like a 3 month melt, it captivated the country.

ATPB was the melt of all melts.

It does a disservice to all other melts to compare them to the ATPB melt.

A Big 12 champion with a much stronger SOS, already ranked 2nd or 3rd in most polls - DROPS in the polls from 2nd or 3rd to 5th or 6th AFTER beating former #1 OU for the conference championship ???? And a team who finished 3rd in their conference goes ahead of OSU.
I will never understand how that farce was allowed to happen.

Maybe the voters figured Oklahoma State wouldn't skulldrag LSU around the field in the title game.
