NWA is not the place people think it is. Most top athletes don't want to live in the hills and sticks. That is one of the main reasons we struggle to recruit with the big boys.

Look at his record against the top 3-4 teams in that division, it's horrible. We were warned by whiskey fans, brain freezes and poor recruiting
Bret Bielema struggled mightily against Ohio State (though Wisconsin was very competitive in all but one), but I wouldn't say he was "horrible" against the best of the rest:
3-2 versus Michigan
3-2 versus Iowa
2-1 versus Nebraska
3-4 versus Michigan State
2-3 versus Penn State
13-12 record against the perceived "best of the rest"
No doubt, though, Bielema left something to be desired. Wisconsin found some of the most miraculous ways to lose when Biels was HC.

One of the reasons Bret left was Wisconsin wouldn't pony up the money to to keep his best assistant coaches. He had alot of turnover in that department.
He has just now put together a competent staff so we'll see if this crew can get it done. It's great if you have elite players, but bad assistants can negate that.
We'll see how it goes from here on out....

Why has he had such a revolving door of assistants. Every year we supposedly have the best staff ever. They we lose part of them after poor results. The next batch will be top level. It's nut cutting time. Sports media here is pointing out its time to quit taking and start walking. This year could show if e stays or goes

He has culled and upgraded on assistant coaches. This is what good coaches do.They don't worry about their feelings, they upgrade.
The product will come together.

Bert hire assistants that are coveted by others.
Its a little different than the Carroll College Mafia you lust after.

Yup, he got accustomed to having assistants that nobody else wanted from the Hatfield through Petrino years.

Dude.... Petrino is gone. I lked him when he was here but he messed up. I truly believe Coach B is an upgrade and is building a steel house that is sustainable. Petrinos gingerbread house looked delicious but it got ate up because it wasnt built to last.
