I'm not judging Auburn... I understand their situation sucks... Desperation and stuff makes people/programs do things.

Yes, we're still waiting on Arkansas to do something meaningful. 1992 to 2016 is a long time.

Wasn't auburn under probation for their undefeated season, or was that the one before the last one?

Maybe you should worry more about your 5-7 prediction

Not in 2004 or 2010. 1993, yes.

Well, we've had so many undefeated seasons, I could see how you might be confused. It wasn't the 2004 or 2010 season, but the one in 1993.

In order for us to start putting together top 10 to 15 classes we need to build a strong foundation which Bret is doing and string together some winning seasons. We are never going to recruit at an elite level but if we can garner the attention of some very good recruits then we can plug those in with some high character experienced players. Bret has brought very good exposure to the program and he is charismatic. We need that type of coach to get rid of the stigma of living in Arkansas. With that exposure we are able to get more kids on campus and sell our product.

Anyone who thinks NW Arkansas isn't one of the best places in the SEC is just fooling themselves. NW is consistently ranked as some of the best quality of living in the COUNTRY.

Auburn acts like they are on an elite level but they are not. Auburn has the benefit of a very good location and is able to get the scraps Bama leaves behind which is not bad by any means. Auburn was very fortunate for Cam to fall in their lap and he is the sole reason for their recent success. I honestly believe without Cam that Auburn would be on the same level as Tennessee up until this season. You can see they are definitely on the downturn.

These are all facts and anyone who disputes them is just trolling.

What does he have to do with the 2013 SEC Championship?

Yeah... Except Auburn won the SEC in 2013 without Cam Newton...

Yeah, except for that undefeated season in 2004.

Just started reading this thread so I am sure this has been commented on but wow.

If you know anything about NW Arkansas then you would know that isn't an outlandish statment. Not saying it is in the top 3 but there is nothing really "wow" about that statement.

so you think he is a loyal guy even though the only instance you have to judge that characteristic shows otherwise?

You would think some teams shitty performance and history would temper effect their fans.

Arkansas has been trash Petrino left but you wouldn't know it reading this board.

The only thing I have to add to this thread is that without a doubt, you have to recruit at a high level to win championships in today's game. Just take a look at the entire history of SEC champions since the championship game was put in place. I am almost certain every one of the teams that won the champ were top 10-15 recruiting classes in the country. Talent alone cannot win, that is correct. But you must have the talent to win championships is also correct.

I think Bert is a good coach. But I don't know if or ever Arky will make it to the promised land. To compare Arkansas and say they are eye level with LSU or Auburn...absurd. Like it or not, but hardware is the end all be all. It is Alabamas world and we all live in it. But auburn, lsu, florida all have recent national titles...georgia recent sec titles...tenn late 90s nat'l and sec titles...arky...no titles. It's a simple fact.

This is only the start of Bret's 4th year, we have not had a coach in years that actually tried to build the whole team. Going forward we won't have major drop in talent, because he does a great job of bringing in players that fit our rugged
physical system. We have 4* players all over the field now from past recruiting, plus some huge surprises like Drew Morgan who was a 3* stud that tore it up last year.

We won't have many peaks and valleys that we had with Petrino/Nutt. Bret is very calculating and I think we will see going forward his type physical play he wants to have. Bama,LSU has always had this type play, Arkansas is getting there as well, but have a well rounded offense that can run or pass equally and stop the run on defense. We stopped Fournette and Derek Henry from getting 100 yards last year, expect the same this year against the run.

Until Bama loses Saban, which I think he will be there 7/8 more years no one is going to steal there candy, but the rest can be beaten.
