For the record...its a hack article.

The issue here is the kind of character Cecil Newton is.

I am quite certain he agreed to not go to the game...and then went anyway.

I am positive he didn't run in to the stadium after the game was over. The only way to pull that off at the BCS NC would be if Auburn arranged it.

Cecil Newton is a liar who doesn't think the rules apply to him...we already knew this.

lol

Jeffrey Lee will be calling you soon.

Hunter, that would be freaking hilarious.

I think Jay Jacobs thought they had an agreement and everything was settled, because even as much shite I as give AU, I truly don't believe a major AD would get up and tell that kind of bald faced lie to the press over this kind of situation.

I think Cecil went rogue and said "frick it - I'm going".

In my imagination, JJ got pretty pissed with Cecil and Cecil probably told him "Too bad sucka, we got the trophy, the title, and we don't need your permission any longer - your tithe was nice but now we getting PAID!"

Cecil going rogue would be my worst nightmare as an AU fan.

Word is he is shopping around a book proposal.

What made up stuff ? you mean Gadsden ? What was said about Gadsden was that the bama players were all driving Chargers (see pictures) and worked for a REC member as asst. lawyers (widely know) Also their latest commitment is now driving a Charger (no problems there). What was made up ?

Go back to ITAT.

People who don't take thorazine and don't have mandated monthly court appearances are talking.

Shoo.

That would be awesome as well. And you're right about some of them having nightmares. The ITAT invasion with the spin and damage control is evident of that.

How funny would it be, if everything was cleared, but it was found that Cam got his dad the ticket and because of the agreement, the only punishment Au received was a vacate of the NC.

Did you actually think this through before posting?

Is it now a NCAA violation that Cam's dad was one of the 72,000 people in the stadium that would cause the game to be forfeited?

Please tell me you're joking?

If he got a ticket that in any way was a comp ticket from Auburn, then he violated the agreement Au had. That would carry into the investigation and the NCAA would be more likely to believe Cam lied to them. So yeah..

You really have no sense of humor at all do you? What a miserable person you must be to be around.

I listened to her on phinebaum. Very uncompelling. Her whole interview was "can you believe Cecil was there? What does that say about Auburn? What does that say about Jay Jacobs? Do you think Cam knew? Is there something more?" Trash journalism.

Now, before you gumps start saying I'm an "burying my head in the sand," I'm not. I'm saying if you've got something of substance, bring it. Otherwise, STFU. She obviously must have hooked-up Thayer Evans in AZ and his body fluids rotted her brain.

First of all this is terrible journalism and a weak attempt to create a story. Second of all Auburn has no control over what Cecil Newton does as has been pointed out. Third I can confirm he was not in the stadium less than an hour before kickoff.

Cecil disregarded agreement he made with SEC and Auburn. Still, if no money exchanged hands, Auburn is safe. But this makes everyone look all the harder, and Cecil--unfortunately for Auburn--isn't the best at covering his tracks.

There was never an agreement between auburn and Cecil to disassociate permanently with auburn. The agreement was to LIMIT involvement, which they have. Now that said I don't think Cecil should have gone if he agreed not to. That's not right.

Like I said, AU can't force him to stay in his hotel - that's stupid.

But, if I am Jay Jacobs and I said this to the national media-

quote:

Jacobs said the decision for Cecil Newton not to attend "was mutually agreed upon. Out of the highest respect that Cecil has for Cameron, he won't be here today."

And then the asshat that is Cecil flouted that and showed up anyway?

I would be beyond pissed.

It calls Jacob's credibility into question and reinforces the national impression of Cecil as a guy who just doesn't care what the rules are and as a person who's word isn't worth a damn.

This isn't on Cam and, quite frankly, it isn't on Auburn.

It's on Cecil.

And a guy who has already been proven to be a liar, with his hand out, and someone with little regard for promises and rules would be what should scare AU fans.

That guy is a $200,000 payday from a tell all Barbara Walters interview. Or a book deal.

Actually, Cam knew exactly where to go look for him in the stands. Kinda makes me think he knew before the game he'd be there.

Cecil was there because the rules do ot apply to him and his boy. Cecil and Cam do what they want to do with total disregard for Auburn or the NCAA. They do not give a shite about Auburn or the NCAA.

Where does it say that she spoke with the NCAA? They wouldn't give her any info even if she had.
