Then who can the NCAA punish over this rule being broken? Can't punish Fluker now so what should happen? Vacate games the only option?

They can't punish anybody, which is why nothing is going to happen. Should I punish your mother because you're stupid? No. She did all she could, or so she says.

Just because Robinson says they arne't doesn't mean they can't.

This will spawn an investigation. The NCAA will come knocking on doors.

No, they probably won't get anyone to talk, but quit acting like this story doesn't at least bring them to Tuscaloosa for a day. shite, Mark Emmert all but admitted that the NCAA investigated Auburn partly because of emails sent to them.

Have a feeling that the NCAA is gonna surprise and go after this one pretty hard

i think your opinion is every bit as accurate as this robinson guy. you, at least, stated yours as an opinion. unless robinson is with the ncaa he does't know what they are going to do.

I said nothing was going to happen and called some guy stupid while insinuating I have carnal knowledge of his mother. Nowhere in there did I say there would be no investigation.

I agree with this. Charles Robinson of Yahoo! doesn't tell the NCAA what it can and can't do. Right now none of us know - could be nothing, could be the motherfricking hammer.

The only thing guaranteed is that about half this forum is going to be PISSED at the result either way.

Nah, that was just long enough for you to pull the trigger while we were still mid laugh. Those are always the best ones. When you tell someone mid laughs something that just makes them stop.

We turned in Luther Davis back in December. That's the scuttlebutt anyway.

I agree with this also. C Robinson isn't the NCAA's daddy and doesn't tell them what to do and not do.

My prediction: Alabama has to vacate the 2012/2013 BCS championship victory over Notre Dame due to Fluker receiving extra benefits in Dec 2012 but no meaningful future penalties are added. I assume the vacating of the win would mean a vacating of the national title from the official records. Sucks, but at least the overall 2012 season stays intact.

Yup, and from my understanding, with the stuff we turned in, the NCAA said we had done what we were supposed to do. Can't do much more than that IMO. Hard to punish someone for doing what they were supposed to do.

The NCAA can't do that as the BCS National Championship Game has nothing to do with the NCAA.

And they're talking about this very topic on ESPN Outside the Lines right now. They see no chance of Alabama's national championships being stripped away by the NCAA.
