I hate Alabama as much or more than anyone but I have no problem with DJ Fluker or Mark Barron getting a little spending money advance on their NFL signing bonus.

Funneling money under the table to a recruit to attend school A over school B is a different story but there's no suggestion of that here.

Auburn set the precedence, they got away with it and now they all want a piece of the pie.

The NCAA use to put programs on the death penalty for stuff like this. Now with them controlling their own networks and the money they receive they till the NCAA what to do. Kind of like when the real SEC banking regulatory use to tell the banks what to do.

I do not know when or how this all got out of control but it is. It is a money grab and everyone is out for themselves.

I still have a problem with them breaking the rules. But, yeah, punishing the school for it is nonsense.

I for one welcome whatever new rules and regulations keep this travesty from ever happening again.

pretty much every ncaa game from last year in which a draft pick played had someone playing that got money from an agent.

Then who can the NCAA punish over this rule being broken? Can't punish Fluker now so what should happen? Vacate games the only option?

Bo Mattingly said that the NCAA does not have the attornies or compliance staffers to pursue this like they use to and the schools, especially the ones cheating, hire former NCAA attornies and thus are always 2-3 steps ahead.

Charles Robinson is stating the NCAA has no authority to bring in people that are not in the NCAA anymore. And to prove what the school knew what was going on is also very hard to prove outside of USCw.

So Charles Robinson respected journalist can come up with evidence and cannot be used, but 100,000 bammers can email ncaa and AU is investigated over and over again. Sounds about right for the inbred nation and ncaa.

In USCw's case, the NCAA didn't/couldn't prove the school knew. They used the term "should have known".

They also said "high-profile players demand high-profile enforcement." But the NCAA has never used either of these phrases before the Bush thing or after. So who knows the hell the NCAA will do. Probably nothing.
