I hope this happens. It would be ridiculous to penalize any of these programs for silly bullshite like this. Now if they'd have *allegedly sold autographs on the other hand...

What is silly about punishing schools for playing ineligible players?

Have a feeling that the NCAA is gonna surprise and go after this one pretty hard.

Emmett has made the NCAA a complete joke now....the evidence is sitting in front of them.....do I think what happened is that bad-no, but at the same time they have to do something-either make paying players legal or punish when it's illegal...

Invitation for schools/agents to run wild. NCAA doesn't even care any more.

I hate Alabama as much or more than anyone but I have no problem with DJ Fluker or Mark Barron getting a little spending money advance on their NFL signing bonus.
Funneling money under the table to a recruit to attend school A over school B is a different story but there's no suggestion of that here.

The evidence that the NCAA cannot use is right in front of them. They can't use anything in that article per their bylaws. They have to get the orginal docs. etc. If no one talks (which they wont) they can't do anything.

because so many schools are doing it that they might as well suspend the big dogs. Then you have the SEC wanting to spin off their brand away from the NCAA.
Corrupt is corrupt, and that is the bottom line.
The SEC will have to pay for all this some day.

Yep, if the NCAA doesn't pursue this, they are done as a regulatory agency. Open season for cash flying errwhere. If they want to investigate something in the future, I'd tell them to go frick themselves.

And having the University doing it is a whole lot different from what happened here. I don't think it's that bad, looking over the article for the first time today. The real question here is about the NCAA and how inconsistent they are. You never know with them
