I agree it probably would end up being Bama, UF and Vandy I was just going off the teams we've played the most.

I found a combination that I like better.

That would probably be ours. UF/AU are obviously a given, and we've played SC quite a bit throughout our history.

Kentucky?
We NEED to start playing Auburn again. AU, Georgia, and South Carolina for us.

I'd like to see UF have UGA/UT/AU. And no, it has nothing to do with those being traditionally good teams. UGA is a given. Yall had some classics with AU. And UF/UT in the 90s might have been one of the 2 or 3 premier rivalry games of the decade. UF/LSU has never really felt like a "rivalry". And SC seems odd. Spurrier won't be there forever to give a nice storyline.

Here is another scenario that would probably be even better for the fans and TV money but would piss the coaches off.

9 game SEC Schedule

You have 5 permanent rivals, then the other 4 games rotate between the other 8 teams home in home every two years.

So you still achieve the every 4yr player sees every stadium and plays each SEC team at least twice along with 5 teams all 4 years. But you also keep even more rivalries alive and make even more games continue to be every year intense affairs.

This would be awesome.

Every year Rivals -

Alabama
Tennessee
Auburn
LSU
Miss St
Texas A&M

Arkansas
Missouri
LSU
A&M
Ole Miss
Miss St

Auburn
Alabama
Georgia
Tennessee
Ole Miss
Florida

Florida
Georgia
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kentucky
Auburn

Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
Auburn
Tennessee
Vandy

Kentucky
Florida
Vandy
Miss St
Missouri
Ole Miss

LSU
Ole Miss
Arkansas
A&M
Alabama
Missouri

Miss St
Alabama
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Vandy
Arkansas

Missouri
Arkansas
A&M
South Carolina
Kentucky
LSU

Ole Miss
Miss St
Auburn
LSU
Kentucky
Arkansas

South Carolina
Georgia
Missouri
Vandy
Texas A&M
Florida

Tennessee
Alabama
Vandy
Florida
Auburn
Georgia

Texas A&M
Missouri
LSU
Arkansas
South Carolina
Alabama

Vandy
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kentucky
Georgia
Miss St

The only team that gets both Vandy and Kentucky is Miss St, which historically is probably the next worse or maybe SC but they seem to have more momentum as a long-term competitive program that Miss St. right now so it seems fair.

Aside from that storyline, which never got picked up by the media a whole lot because of how much Spurrier downplayed it, UF and USC have had some damn good games against each other the last 10 years or so. There have been some ugly blowouts, too, but for the most part, it's been a very competitive series - certainly moreso than UF/UTK during the same timespan.

Plus, it's an easy road trip for both fanbases.

That's true, but when deciding on the permanant opponents (in this hypothetical, which is just for fun) I'd like to see more of a nod to historical matchups. UF/SC is more of a current thing that had basically no history whatsoever prior to 2005. UF/UT have had some classics in its time, and as mentioned for about a decade it was one of the major rivalries in the country.

Yeah, and I get that. I'm not lobbying for, in this hypothetical, USC to be UF's fourth foe over UTK. I'm just speaking for the UF fan who included USC in his list. There's some rationale for it, to be sure.

While I don't think anything can match the intensity of UGA/USC during the same timespan, UF/USC has been a dead-heat, and probably the most underrated series in the conference. UF/USC has also produced the most entertaining game of either series when Jarvis Moss became inhuman and blocked two FGs in the '06 game in the Swamp.

SC has had a lot of good series' the last 4 years or so.

In addition to UF and UGA every TN-SC game has been down to the last drive and the Missouri-SC games have been fantastic as well.

I was using 10 years as a timeframe, but yeah, there have been some good ones.

Mizzou/USC has the potential to get downright heated - if it isn't already. There are an awful lot of similarities between the two programs. I don't object to them being one of USC's permanent opponents in this hypothetical scenario.

Yes. Urban Justice at its finest. I was at that game, and when he blocked the second one to seal the 17-15 victory, I thought the stadium was going to collapse.

Very much so. Things get nasty around the time of the TCU-Baylor game, especially since the schools aren't far apart (about an hour and half, two hours depending on traffic). And now that TCU and Baylor are the dominant Texas football schools, i'd imagine its even worse.

How old are you? Twelve? You are talking about two private schools with very small fan bases that actually had to DECREASE the size of their respective stadiums in their rebuilds. How heated can it get between all ten of their fans? TCU has had a good run, and Baylor is better than they've been since before you were born, but let's not get all hot and bothered by a pillow fight between Baylor and TCU.

So tell me, how many sell outs last year did either TCU or Baylor have? Only when tu and OU showed up? That's what I figured. Any SEC school on any given Saturday has as many fans outside their stadiums without tickets as either TCU or Baylor has inside their stadium, not counting empty seats.

It's a sad day in the XII when TCU and Baylor are your best football programs.

At the end of the day you don't know shite and you are clueless about fan loyalties in the state of Texas.

The fact that you registered your account on Monday speaks volumes. So go troll, troll, troll your boat.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Having lived in Ft. Worth, TX, I can tell you TCU and Baylor have large, rabid fanbases. That can and will easily fill up a stadium.

Baylor claims to have sold out every game last year which I find to be dubious at best considering they had never done that before. It's possible since it was their opening year a ton of those "sold tickets" were actually given to corporate donors who didn't show.

TCU claimed 4 of 7 home games were sellouts.

But of course, here is what they pulled just a couple years ago when they were playing Kansas the same time as Texas/OU.

They claimed 41,894 for that game so that indicates there are a shitload of season tickets that aren't actually held by fans but are bought up by random corporate sponsors, ticket brokers, and Texas fans that got the season tix for the sip game who then turned around and sold the rest of the season. (exactly what I did when A&M went to SMU which essentially meant I went to the game for free )

LSU - Ark LSU - A&M Bad examples, honestly. Not historical at all. I'd miss the annual LSU/Bama, LSU/Ole Miss, LSU/FL games for sure though.

Also, did you notice that LSU was the only Big 6 team without another Big 6 in their permanent opponents?

What is the deal with that?

Even better, every Big 6 team has TWO Big 6 teams as permanent games except LSU who has ZERO.

wtf?

Meyer waited to suspend him until the next week against Western Carolina.
