Look I am sorry if you are offended but I have been addressing the points throughout this thread. It's not necessarily a criticism as I think Mizzou and Aggies wanting to exclude OU is in their minds acting in their own self interest.

ESPN will be spun off from Disney and left to die a very public death.

That's not going to happen. Despite everything else, ESPN is still the most valuable non-broadcast network there is.

They are going to have to take their lumps until their current contracts expire, and then they'll be able to shift to a la carte delivery methods. When that happens, they are not going to re-up with several conferences. At least one of the Power 5 is going to lost their rights deal, and Fox is not a legit competitor. The Big XII is the most likely candidate to fold, and the value teams will have to go elsewhere.

I hope you new sooner fans have made forum accounts on some PAC 12 message boards as well. You are not coming ot the SEC. Your academics will prevent you from moving to the B1G so the only option will be the PAC once the conference you helped to implode goes kaput.

OU is as complicit as Texas for the state of the Big 12. You deserve to sway in the breeze honestly.

I agree that ESPN will have to take their lumps, but Disney doesn't have to take those lumps along with them which is why they'll spin them off. Disney execs have already had discussions about it.

What about the the non aggie and Mizzou fans that dont want OU?

Discrediting the points via ad hominem is as disingenuous as it gets.

OU by themselves might work. But once you try to add OSU then it becomes a horrible shite sandwich where everyone loses money and SEC academics take a hit.

You know this...it would help lock down DFW (4th largest metro area) and make the SEC the brand in Texas.

The SEC already is the premiere CFB brand in Texas. Check the ratings. It would be stupid to cut the revenue pie into more pieces.

The cable TV money cows for the SEC are Florida and Texas A&M. If you want to thoroughly piss off one of the money cows, just start a discussion for adding OU.

It ain't ever gonna happen.

What about them? I never suggested that the other fans were universal in their opinion in adding OU. I can tell you are still very angry with your Big12 experience.

Can you tell me why you think the SEC actually does?

I would like to qualify my posts in this thread by stating there is no way in hell I would take OSU in some sort of package. We already have an OSU in the conference and they are called Mississippi State.

I have no issue adding OU. It isnt going ot happen but adding OU and an Eastern school from the ACC ould be just fine with me.

It isnt going to happen though.

You are still dodging the fact you are a hypocrite for calling an argument disingenuous based on fandom. There have been some very valid arguments made by Missouri and Aggie posters.

Dumb on it's face, skippy. Producing more D1 players than Texas, aTm, and several other schools can possibly sign means neither Texas nor anyone else can close recruiting to the state to anyone.

I don't believe it will happen, and I believe it'd be incredibly shortsighted to do it. As the model shifts to streaming, ESPN is still going to be incredibly valuable. Their a la carte options will sell really well, probably better than anything not named Amazon or Netflix.

Who the hell do you think we are going to pull out of the ACC? Who would be comparable from the "East" that is a viable candidate? That would be better or even on par with OU? The ACC is doing just fine as a conference and they are currently 2-3 in major titles this year. Flipping a marquee name from the ACC is fantasy I/m/o. Clemson and FSU would be the more likely candidates but they declined to join some years ago. Who else?

I bet as those contracts near their sunset and Boren either croaks or retires, it may well be a very real possibility.

OU was complicit with Texas in preparing the shite sandwiches for all the other members in the old Big 12.

Now they can stay over there and rot or beg the Pac12 to take them.

Aggies have enough alliances to stop them from ever being invited to join the SEC.

NC State. VA tech?

There are plenty of schools that would be willing to listen to an SEC offer.

I don't give a shite whether you believe me or not. I don't care about going to the B1G, or the PAC either.

quote:

The B1G already regrets Nebraska.

I've seen zero evidence of this whatsoever.

quote:

"National brand" which hurt their B1G network dividends per school once the became a full member after their jr membership phase and also dinged the B1G academic status.

I've seen no evidence of this either.

The same fate is looming for you wallflower.

I still think content is king no matter what the channel its distributed on. OU is an attractive brand with huge following: OU vs. (Insert current SEC team) will get a lot of views. It would enhance the portfolio that is the SEC. There aren't any others like it that could be up for grabs.

The only way it makes sense is if the current cable model dies. And while the current cable model is hurting, it's a long way from dead.
