In Manziel's case, its both.
Not really. The vast majority of his criticism is off the field. The only thing people had an issue with manziel on the field was his money sign. But they were in no way near in comparison to the criticism of cam's

Again, the fear is he becomes the face on the NFL. He is doing it his way, and the establishment does not approve.
That was said about Namath in 1967 thru 1969. Last time I checked Namath is a European-American.
They did not approve of Namath because he was publicly fricking anything that moved. They do not like Cam because he dances after every successful play. They wouldn't be as upset if he danced like a 50 year old white man, they would probably call it endearing.

Not really. He has similar frames/builds to Roethlisberger and Culpepper. He's more mobile, to be sure.

Let's not forget the infamous John Gruden QB camp where Cam awkwardly answered a question about plays. There was a torrent of negative replies towards Cam...
Geez, I remember that as well. People thought he would never make it because he couldnt either remember plays or call them

as referenced in the original thread, go look at the number of "n words" directed at him in his Twitter mentions
Yeah, it's not like he said this completely out of the blue.

Let me know when this country isn't complaining about a certain race being left off a Wheaties box or in an Oscar's ballot and they start caring about the poverty, gang violence, homicide rate, and drug addiction problem.
So we have no problem with Jordan being the face of the NBA, followed by Kobe, followed by Durant/griffin, followed by Curry...
but somehow this country is against Cam Newton be the face of the NFL because he's black.
Let me know when people start wanting to talk about the lack of diversity in those various sports, where anyone but black people are the minority.

Which was just as pathetic a thing for people to get their panties in a wad over.
Especially because Manziel didn't even come up with it. That was an A&M team thing from the year before he started

I mean, are we really basing the pulse of America on what people say in mentions on twitter? If so, look up basically anyone famous and let me know what you find. I guarantee most of it won't be pretty. That's how Americans and social media in general work in 2016.

Dear Cam. Doug Williams won a Super Bowl. Not like you winning one would be the first time.

When was the last time a black man was the face of the NFL ?
how out of touch are you, really?
the 1975 NFL draft gave us football fans this man who by 1980 was the answer to your lazy question.
and as far as Newton's dumbass quote...
Payton maybe. It has always been Montana, Young, Marino, Aikman and the last fifteen years with Manning and Brady. Thirty years is a long time.

It's not a lack of diversity in the NBA its a result of the number of white kids that actually play the sport, same a baseball and black kids....stupid argument.
