Doesn't change much, Cecil admitted to the talks after he had denied any knowledge of it previously. The MSU link has been made. Rogers says he has no knowledge of Auburn's recruitment. That's the important link in my opinion. If you want to add it, go ahead. I just posted the timeline from another board.

Why would we be scared? If anyone should be scared it is Auburn.

Which usually means someone is hiding something and can't remember the whole first lie he told. The NCAA now has basically two whole weeks before the Bama game to figure it all out

And way to be an e-badass auburnu, you are just so tough

I'm sure the AU fans aren't stupid enough to think that after all that has come out that they are not going to be in trouble. The only way the situation could get any worse is if they don't even make the nc game.

If you had any brains, you'd be pretty terrified.

Nov 13th, Despite all of the above evidence, Auburn decides to play Cam Newton against Georgia.

Why'd they do this? I wonder what input the AD had over this decision?

How many losses does your team have?

ZERO now, thanks to you. I hope chizik defies reality and starts cam against bama. You guys aren't going to beat Bama this year. Their defense is big enough to sit back and wait, and their qb can get the ball to their playmakers... You're undefeated and you clinched the west, even though you wont go, but don't start taking credit for doing something you haven't done yet in beating Bama. Hell, your home schedule was pretty amazing as it is.

Nov 13th - Atlanta reporter speaks to Cecil who admits to the MSU talk but says Cam knew nothing about.

So, Cam leaves recruitment up to financially-struggling dad. Calls up the school he wanted to go to and mentions money. Struggling father is all of a sudden not struggling anymore.

And we're supposed to believe Cam knew nothing?

Tthis all came to light ten games in. If he is ruled ineligible they give up all of those wins anyway why not play him and hope for the best. If this was wek three or four you sit him just in case week ten if he cheated your screwed anyway.

Newton's father owned a small trucking company with two drivers. After Newton signed they were flushed with so many contracts that a dozen drivers were hired.

Anyone know the name of this trucking company?

This is false. The SEC is on record saying they never contacted the NCAA. This is why Slive's sorry arse was so bitchy about State in his comments yesterday. If State hadn't gone to the NCAA it never would have made it there.

A quick search of the GA Sec. of State website shows that the only thing that Cecil Newton is listed as an officer of is the church. Its weird, but it looks like the non-profit was dissolved in 2008.

Slive is saying that no one informed the SEC now, from what I understand. Either way, the decision from Chizik to go ahead and start Cam Newton today did more damage to the future of Auburn football than people realize. Whether he "might as well" or not, the evidence is overwhelmingly against Cam Newton at this point, and Chizik insulted the NCAA by playing Cam, ten games in or not. He has shown the country that he doesn't care as long as he wins, and you can tell by the way his team plays as well. Their defense has been performing better, mainly because every qb they go against mysteriously gets hurt... and their offensive lineman arm tackle every play, which is why they did well against LSU, because all they had to do was let lsu dlineman chose a gap, and then jump on their backs. Whatever way he goes, just grab ahold of his jersey and don't let him change his mind, Cam will find the hole. Auburn's program is about to get a BAD BAD rep.

How do Auburn fans keep insisting that Auburn has not yet been accused of anything when there is a said taped phone conversation of Cam telling State we would not be signing there because his dad said the money was too good.

If the tape exists, that means at the least a booster paid for Cam (with or without Auburn's knowledge. This is still a violation.

Please refresh my memory. Why do we think there is such a tape?

Not unless he gave another interview today. Yesterday he confirmed that they were notified in January, did nothing, and asked for more info. And when they finally got more info in July, they still did not notify the NCAA. They told Auburn what info they had been given and gave them 5 weeks to respond.

That is why I said "a said taped phone conversation". The accusation of that such a tape exists is also an accusation that Auburn committed a violation.

That is why I do not understand how people can say Auburn has not been accused of anything.
