Yeah, that whole scandal/investigation put no pressure on Cam

Yeah, plus down 24 in Tuscaloosa ....what an odd post.

Mett. Most thought Cam would be the next Brent Schaeffer including myself.

I remember the Brent Shaeffer comparisons.

I also remember some Heisman predictions. (for Cam) The only thing I don't remember is any Auburn fans predicting 14-0 BCS National Champs.

Do I need to bump my thread hyping him up for the Heisman after week 4?

I don't think some of these guys were here for the Cam hype.

People thought Cam was a fluke. A TE who had a strong arm.

Or something along those lines. That's why I thought it was over the course of the whole season with consistent performances brought him attention...not pre season hype.

I make it a point to never post on the LSU rant because so many of those guys view everything through the thickest purple and gold lenses. I think the consensus amongst level-headed LSU fans is that Mett will be good enough to diversify the offense a little more.

With that said, keep in mind that most of the Tiger fans, like myself, post on the SEC rant to avoid LSU circle jerks and rantards. I know I personally enjoy hearing other opinions.

Not once did I think this. And he proved you, and them, all wrong. In fact, he's still proving you wrong.

BTW, I'll go with Mettenberger getting the most hype. Although, I do think it is warranted. He's going to be good.

TigerRant is where I found out I was a blondie and an idiot for thinking CLM has done pretty well. I've just about given up on that site.

Charles from Reeltown and Tammy finally got one right.

If he can get to his third read when he has to on most passing plays I'll be happy. I wouldn't put him any higher than 4th in the sec until I see him play against real competition. He does have a lot of talent though.

On top of that LSU returns all of their running backs and a very talented oline, so Mett will have it pretty easy as far as first years in the conference go.

I agree. Going in I'd have have Wilson, Shaw, AJ, Murray and Bray. I've haven't seen Franklin to make a judgement and Rogers, well, he plays for Vandy...he has a higher mountain to climb.

I would say Wilson is the clear number one. Bray is 2a, AJ is 2b, Mett, Murray and Shaw are in a fight for 4. I like what I saw from Rogers as well. If everyone lives up to their talent level Mett is between 4 and 6, but LSU was great with JJ/JL at 10th or worse in the conference, and 2 QBs = no QBs, so LSU fans are optimistic.

Mett. A lot of people didn't even hear of Newton until after a few games.

Come on now. When Cam Newton Came to Auburn, his Blinn Jr. College highlights where already up. I thought wow this guy is fricking awesome. 6-5 250LBS. He's huge. Cam Newton eventually over shadowed Terrel Prior. Cam Newton was a fricking beast before he got to Auburn. Besides Cam got more headlines with Camgate than any other story.

The tread is a out PRE-season hype. Yes folks were excited about Cam, but there has been more PRE-season hype about Frazier from auburn fans. bama fans can not wait to scream "down goes Frazier" but that is part of the rivalry.
