@AUFAMILY: WDE RT @theWoodWDE How big is #Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson? This is him & Cam Newton in Feb. 2014. He's even bigger now https://t.co/wCYtg2Dc8d

As noted above, Jeremy Johnson has only gotten, bigger, faster, and stronger since this pic was taken. I feel sorry for your mediocre defenses having to try and stop him in the fall

He was the backup QB for a team on a four game losing streak against FBS opponents. Not exactly the stuff of nightmares.

My guess is there will be some pretty good defenses that will struggle with him, too! Little defensive backs might just bounce off of him!

I was discussed all last year that Johnson was performing better in practice (and games where he played), but Gus remained loyal to Marshall. If you know anything about Football, you know the Offense was not the problem for AU last year.

That dude is more overrated than Nkemdiche this offseason.

Good, God. He better live up to y'all's expectations.

Actually...why shouldn't he have? Marshall was the motor that made the bus run. He fit the offense well and, IMO is what made it so dangerous.

That said, I think Johnson will give Auburn a new dimension.

Understood, and I do think he'll play well and Gus will never have a bad offense. Just think the nightmare talk is hyperbole.

Gus wants to win. He would have benched Marshall if JJ gave yall a better chance last year.

Who is the 40 year old man standing with Cam?

He sure is trying hard to suck in that stomach for the picture.

So you're saying he's gotten fatter?

The only way Marshall could have made AU a better team last year, is if he would have played Defense. AUs Offense had a lot of pressure on them to score on every possession, that is why Gus threw the ball with Marshall more.

It is getting ridiculous. The kid had a great half against Arkansas and has mostly looked good, but the expectations from many are out of control.

I do not think the expectations of Johnson are that far out there with most AU fans. They know the people around him should be an upgrade to a very good Offense last year. Also, this is the first time since Cam, that AUs Offense will have a true dual threat at QB. I think the higher expectations are on the Defense being "just average" this year.

Completely agree. I think he'll do well, but the hype is getting ridiculous.

The hype needs to temper a bit, from both outside the fanbase and in. JJ has a lot of potential, and we have seen what he can do when given the opportunity. If he can sustain that, he is going to be a very successful QB for us. I can almost guarantee you he won't be Cam, though.

Well Brandon Allen went TD for TD against him, so the Hogs aren't worried. BA is better.

Yeah but he tore up Arkansas and Western Carolina!

I'd be more worried if JJ played defense.
