Well Luck was considered a generational talent so of course it seems absurd, but Johnson has almost nothing in common with Blake Sims other than his skin color. That's not intended as a slight at Sims who was very successful, but they're different types of quarterbacks. I wouldn't say he'll play like Cam Newton either.

I generally don't like hyperbolic predictions, but I'm confident in saying that Johnson is the best pure passer that Auburn has ever had. This is also the most overall talent Auburn has had in ten years, so he has a high probability of success. Obviously from an outside perspective these statements sound ridiculous at this point, but I believe it to be true. He just has it.

Considering our history, perhaps not

I don't think comparing him to Luck is to say he'll be that good, I think it's just a comparison to relate his skill set to a QB that everybody knows. I would have said Randall Cunningham but Luck works too.

Good size, cannon of an arm, good accuracy, not blazing speed but good enough to pick up the first down and will lower the shoulder and bowl somebody over at the end to get a couple extra yards.

Sorry. Posters aren't allowed to start positive threads about players from their own school. I've been assured it's in the by-laws or something. Expect this thread to quickly be deleted or moved to the auburn board.

Saban passed on him for a reason

It is getting ridiculous. The kid had a great half against Arkansas and has mostly looked good, but the expectations from many are out of control.

A little dramatic. The OP has continuously made similar terrible threads thinking he is a master troll of the rant. Message board hype is serious business Now I guess?

Yeah he is being overhyped, but out of control? I

He passed on Saban from the beginning. Did not want to be a game manager.

If he truly passed on him, then it was a mistake. He may have thought he had plenty of depth at the time, but clearly he was wrong. It's not like Saban has an infallible reputation for quarterback evaluation.

I just read on the Auburn 247 site that we are probably going to build a new athletic complex in the near future. All the people trolling this thread by talking about how terrible the facility looks can now go frick themselves

Serious question.. Have you watched Jeremy Johnson play?

Yes, and the comparison was more about the role he'll be asked to play than his skill set. It's a closer comparison than a Cam Newton one. I don't see Johnson running off tackle every 3rd & 1 or 2, and bulling over LB's for a 1st down like Cam did. I do see him getting the ball to Duke as often as possible and letting him make plays.

Lord Have Mercy on you Phan!

It was already addressed earlier in this thread that the picture was taken in the AU visitors locker room due to AU renovating/upgrading the AU facility.

JJ's the real deal - I watched him play at Carver many times. He's smart, good size for durability and has good accuracy.

He'll have a seasoned WR in Duke to help him out and a trio of good RB's to feed the ball to when necessary.

I look for AU's offense to be really good this year, provided the new center produces and the oline gels early.

Well I believe that is wrong. From what little I know that picture was taken in the locker room of Auburn's current athletic complex. Work on a new facility hasn't started yet

The picture is a year old.

Your brother IronsPuppet said it was taken in the visitor's dressing room because at the time AU was in the process of renovating the Home dressing rooms.

I have seen simar pictures described as the locker room of the athletic complex. The locker room and the athletic complex as a whole is not as nice as a lot of other schools from what I have seen. That is why a new complex will likely be built
