I'm more excited than over-hyped to see him.

Think Luck is a better comparison.

I can almost guarantee you he won't be Cam, though.
He doesn't have to be Cam under Gus. That's the ultimate insurance you have as a fanbase.

Except for those times the offense couldn't out score the other teams offense?

This is starting to feel like the ridiculous pre-season Coker hype from last summer. I'm sure he will be solid-good, but with the expectations being set, very unlikely he will live up to them. I'm smelling a 9-3 season on the plains and a lynching of JJ on aub message boards coming...

Auburn should win the West this year, and I see Johnson being similar to Blake Sims for Bama last year. Hand the ball off to the talented RBs, get the ball to the playmaker at WR(Duke), and make the occasional play running the ball or extending the play when the pocket collapses. The comparisons to Cam are ridiculously premature.
The biggest question with any new starting QB is the intangibles. Can he get the team to rally around him, get the players lined up correctly, make the right reads, etc.

I don't expect to see very much of that

This. They should give him a season to prove he's not that great before crowning him.

ITT
Jeremy Johnson has been compared to
Cam Newton
Andrew Luck
I think you guys are selling this kid short. I would compare him to Uncle Rico. You see that mountain over there?

630 yards and 44 points will win you most of your SEC Games, unless you have Ellis Johnson as a DC.
