This. I bet he had no problem with his colleague Bob Costas's rant about Augusta National and the Masters a few years back.

No, I want all politics out of sport. The flag represents our country and those who fought and died, so you can be a queer. That's not politics. That's respect whether you like it or not. If you don't like it get the hell out.

Who are they saying vote for by presenting the US Flag and a flyover.

No matter who has been president, this has never been an issue until now.

What's that got to do with sports?

I read his article, I didn't take away that he thought anything should be banned. He specifically says he didn't think the Braves were making a political stunt. Not saying I agree with his premise, but don't think it's as extreme a position as some make it sound.

Why is this now an issue for him? Why hasn't he stated this before?

Because it happens in the SEC weekly. My last response to you on that.

What does the flag and national anthem have to do with politics? It's a sports tradition like announcing the starting lineups, playing music between innings, etc. ti's been done in sports forever and will continue despite you snowflakes pissing yourselves about it. That's what.

He says in the article that he sent the tweet to demonstrate his point, which he claims that it did.

I kinda agree with the article, but the tweet was just a poor troll job, imo.

All in all this is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury...

Doesn't make it any less pointless. At least the starting line ups have something to do with the actual game, and playing music between quarters doesn't delay the start of the next quarter.

Well that's not true.

I've said before I think it's silly to always do the national anthem before every sporting event. And while I enjoy the flyover, those are pretty silly too.

What's sillier though, the anthem or the sports event?

The anthem. Easily.
