Dobbs has better vision with the ball in his hands.

Remember, stupid butch never gave Dobbs a QB coach

True, Mullen did a great job of developing Tebow, Dak and now Fitzgerald.

Welp, this is ridiculous in the other direction

Why don't we just wish the kid good luck and let him prove himself on the field?

I don't get why people are upset with the Dobbs/Dak comparisons. Mullen wanted Dobbs to follow Prescott or battle Prescott for PT. Dobbs is a helluva player who could get paid to play football. What more does he need to do?

Dobbs would've done well there but not having the major he wanted probably killed that out of the gate. But yeah, I don't get why folks are so damned upset about the comparison. They set similar records, didn't turn on the passing game til their senior yeas, got tagged as a one-trick pony (in their case running the ball) yet have the potential to tear up the NFL.

Beyond that, they're friends and understand what one another has gone through.

Who knows if Dobbs will lucky enough to land in a good situation -- one where he can play -- but he has the potential to shine. He's got everything you want in a QB - talent, a fantastic work ethic, potential, a very high ceiling. Like Dak all those qualities were overlooked and like Dak he'll have to take advantage of an injury situation or retirement to get his shot but the potential is there just like it was with Dak,nn=And here's the kicker: no one thought Dak would succeeded in the NFL. Of course, that's all been re-written. The same is true for Dobbs. Many fqns, including, our own fans said he'd be designing lanes instead id playing football and the media had him as a 7th rd/UDFA Between then and now Dobbs has shot uup the board

He will be UT's Brodie Croyle.

If you know that going in, you probably shouldn't be on here hyping him.

Nah. Even Sims gets PT and Dobbs is wayyyyy better. The true Croyle is Bray who has done zip in his career.

he lacks the on the field talent that Prescott has, mostly the arm

Are you on drugs or just stupid?

Dobbs does have accuracy problems. Arm strength? Probably stronger than Dak.

Dobbs has every bit as much talent as Dak and is a helluva lot smarter.

Has two titles, I could care less how he does in the NFL. At least Dobbs left you with a shiny TaxSlayer bowl trophy and a Life Championship

Are you suggesting Dobbs was a better college quarterback than Blake Sims? Check those senior stats, like you want to do between him and Dak.

Let me guess, their circumstances were different. Well guess what...

Look, I know you are a Bamnmer and y'all are literally about three evolves behind actual humans, but try to keep up with thread subject.

The thread is about Dobbs and the NFL.

The thread is not about "By Gawd! When this sister fricker or that brother sucker was down yonder at Bammer..."

And you brought up AJ McCarron, a MUCH better college quarterback than Josh Dobbs, and he can't make it in the NFL.

You were trying to take a shot at Alabama by bringing up McCarron, going so far as to call him McDouchebag. And unsurprisingly you come out looking like an idiot.

Senior year (per game)

BS:

249 passing ypg and 2 passing tds per game
64.5% passer
25 rushing ypg and .5 rushing TDs per game
QB rating: 157.90

JD:

226 passing ypg and 2.1 passing TDs per game
63% passer
64 rushing ypg and .92 TD per game
QBR: 150.6

You were saying? BS is slightly better at passing but JD destroys him as a runner

Att/INT
Sims = 39.1
Dobbs = 29.75

AY/A
Sims = 9.2
Dobbs = 8.3

This is a guy who didn't even make more than a practice squad in the league. And NFL qbs generally don't run, not if they want to hang around for long.

You're not dealing with the guy that invented the Rubik's cube here.

Not many smart Vol fans on this board.

This is also a guy who is projected to go in the 2nd-4th round vs an UDFA...scouts see something they like
