Hard not to like Josh Dobbs. There's a kid that has done it right. I will be pulling for him and I hope he'll make a great pro.

Dak Prescott was an outstanding college player who elevated an otherwise below average team into a title contender, much like Cam Newton. Josh Dobbs was an average player who never led his talented team to anything close to respectability. I see no comparisons other than both are black.

AstroDobbs making a diagram of Spider 2 Y Banana

Seriously though, I think this guy is going to surprise some people when he gets actual coaching at the next level imo

I'm not so sure he will sit as long as everyone thinks.

Someone will snatch him up. He is too athletic not to.

"He also became just the third quarterback in SEC history with multiple seasons of at least 15 passing scores and 10 rushing ones, joining former Florida Gators signal-caller Tim Tebow and Prescott."

Try again, slowboy

Dobbs was a few yards shy of breaking Manning's season yardage record. Last season he led the SEC in TD passes, ran for a ridiculous amount of yardage and became the second SEC QB to ever record 10 rushing TDs and 15 passing TDs in multiple seasons (Dak Prescott was the other). Dobbs also joined Tebow, Manziel and Prescott as the only SEC QBs to record 25 rushing TDs and 50 passing and he did it with less playing time.

In terms of overall offensive production, last season shattered records at UT and Josh Dobbs was a major reason why.

And Dobbs did it all with a shitty OL and a WR corps that in his first 2 1/2 years as starter under-performed and at times was downright awful.

Exactly!

He has never had an actual QB coach to really help him develop his natural talent. He is a fast learner. Put him with a real coach and watch.

A QB coach would've been nice and probably would've sharpened his game a bit sooner but honestly he's going to surprise not because of coaching but because he's no longer under a ridiculous academic load and can now focus solely on football. The classes Dobbs took are insanely hard in their normal form and he took the honors version.

This is why Gruden gets paid millions as a football analyst and you don't

Dobbs, Tebow and Manziel are the only quarterbacks in SEC history with multiple 300 passing 100 rushing yard games iirc.
