WOW, Arky must have struck out on every big name guy they were throwing around for the past 7 months.

Gruden
Davis
Gundy
Strong
Miles
etc.............

Al, we made at least an inquiry to Gruden I'm pretty sure.

Gundy was seriously in the mix as a back up to Peterson and Patterson, and it appears, Bielema.

None of the others you listed were seriously considered, I don't believe. Those names were brought up just as message board fodder.
Miles never was a serious option, and you know that.

I figure the order was:

1. Gruden
1a. Petersen
2. Patterson
3. Bielema
4. Gundy

So, I figure we dropped to 4th on our list.
I understand we damn near had Petersen, UofA lawyers were drawing up the papers and Petersen slept on it and decided to stay where his family was comfortable (one report I heard).

See their Oregon State game film fiasco from this season. They got clobbered. It was hilarious.
You talking about the game where Wisky lost by 3 points? Yeah, total clobberation.

Cant wait for that puscatore to start recruiting in the SEC. The whining he made when Urban Meyer started using SEC tactics in the B1G was hilarious.

IMO, it's a solid hire for the Razorbacks.....a proven defensive head coach in a proven defensive powerhouse conference...he'll do better than those mansey-pansey gimmick offensive coaches that flourish for one season before getting figured out and then ultimately move on to the C-USA, Sunbelt, or worse - the ACC.

Big question is will Bile-leemah be like the SEC in any way, shape, or form while HC in Flagship-ville?

Bielema is a good program builder, but a bad game day coach. BB's clock management makes Les Miles look like a genius.

He's trashy enough. Should fit in fine in Arkansas culture.

Will he call the hogs to the "eat shite, frick you" chant?
