Sims could run Auburns offense, but I do not think Marshall could run Alabamas. Sims is the better passer, Marshall is faster, but I do not know who is the better runner... Blake Sims played running back 2 years ago. But right now its too early to tell, Marshall has a SEC championship under his belt so he has to get the nod! But I would rather have Sims all day, but then again thats because we run a pro style, if we ran Malzahns it may be different. Marshall just doesnt seem very accurate, he has a hell of an arm but over throws a ton on the deep ball, like someone said earlier, no touch. Both are great tho!

I'm biased, but I just need more if I were giving you my best assessment of what I thought Sims would turn out to be. The stats aside, it wasn't the Kenny Hill performance of total domination that would inspire that type of impression, for me.

I thought he made a couple of unforced errors, but otherwise ran the offense well. I have no reason to think he won't be able to do that, but to me, that isn't the same as being a complete top level QB.

I like you Petti and this is very close to the truth

Let me indulge you for a minute, so AU has won games using the ZRO very effectively and that is true, NM running the Malzahn O isn't all that impressive stats wise so it doesn't take very much right now to be impressed for AU fans the O poses a real threat aside from the runner of it and AU fans have more or less become use to the type of O without great performances from a QB, it takes one from a RB most Saturdays but not the QB.

So that is where I think you are a bit biased and that is ok, Malzahn wins with the pieces he has.

Now in Sims case he had an elite game against a good SEC defense, his performance was jaw dropping in all aspects. This is something NM rarely has to do to win in the AU offense.

NM runs the AU Offense very well, I don't think BS would be as effective in the exact same way because of the level of running NM utilizes to make the O effective, but at the same token Malzahn could likely make BS a monster in a version of his offense.

Kiffin's O is a lot more about overall production and plays even to a degree without the level of preparation Saban wants (it makes him mad and it's hilarious) and there are even FS's and fumbles etc but the O has been so productive so far it is insane.

against a good SEC defense
They have some talented play makers on that side of the ball and a reputation for being good, but they haven't done much this season to earn the good label.

Despite that, Sims looked great Saturday.

I agree with that and that's kind of my fear. They are good based purely on reputation right now. UF is a program on the brink. A month from now, we could easily look back at Sims' performance against the Gators and say that it wasn't as impressive as we thought.

On the brink of what? Disaster? I'd say they are pretty much already over the edge. I don't know how they'll fare in the East but they would be the worst team in the West easily. That should be unacceptable at Florida.
