It's not the offseason

Exactly, not the offseason. You watched an OM v UT game and Gus came to mind huh? Yeah.

Freeze
2012: Bo Wallace - 17 INTs
2011: Ryan Aplin - 16 INTs
2010: Ryan Aplin - 11 INTs

3 Year Total: 44 (14.7 per year)

Malzahn
2012: Ryan Aplin - 4 INTs
2011: Auburn Trio - 13 INTs
2010: Cam Newton - 7 INTs

3 Year Total: 24 (8 per year)

Expect a lot of INTs with Freeze.

I realize this is hard for some of the more dense posters on this site but perhaps the OP was actually trying to have a real discussion about football.

Cliff notes: Stop flaming the thread.

It is hard because 99% of the Arky fans on here are obsessed with Gus and have started so many that no one on the site can tell the difference anymore.

Cliff notes: Stop making them to troll and there won't be any to flame.

I'm comparing 2 coaches who many consider exciting play callers in the conference.

If Petrino was still our coach, Gus wouldn't have been mentioned ITT.

So Gus is here by default...

Gus set team records for total offense at Tulsa, Auburn, and Arkansas State when he was the OC.

How many team records does Hugh Freeze own?

Good question...I don't know.

The body of work I've seen with Freeze only applies to the last 2 years. Both Freeze and Gus are similar in that they will keep running the same play until it is stopped.

Freeze just seems to utilize the short passing game better in regards to getting TE's or other inside receivers matched up better on LB's.

Gus might be limited by his QB in that regard.

Swing and a miss.

Wallace has thrown zero INTs. Congrats.

But no congrats for Freeze. Still has not had a 3 game stretch in which his team didn't throw an INT in 3 years and 3 games.

ETA: Make that a two game stretch without his team throwing an INT.

so three games against three bad defenses means we should throw out several years worth of stats?

wallace has played well so far, i'll give him that.

using this fuking retarded logic, should we discredit Freeze's numbers b/c Treadwell is a freak athlete?.... you mean to tell me having good football players makes an offense work better... no sh*t sherlock.

That isn't my logic. I didn't tell you that "having good football players makes an offense work better." But I agree that it does. To recap, you said Coach Malzahn developed Cam Newton. I just asked you how. I'm not sure why you're being so pissy just because I asked you to elaborate.

And since you asked, Ole Miss won two conference games in 2006. That isn't anything to brag about.

Hey Vanderbilt had a top 10 pass defense last year but let's ignore facts.

What is contributing to Gus not being able to utilize the short passing game is our WR dropping so many g.d. balls. If they get consistent and Marshall gets better with his touch, we'll see.

We don't exactly have Treadwell running drag routes and out-routes.

Key phrase in there...

The fact is they just got lit up for 360 yards, 3 TDs, and a 73.7% completion percentage against USCe.
