Just wondering where did you get the idea that we lack facilities? We've recently upgraded the entire stadium, on the inside and out, including the weight room and we're about to get brand new outdoor and indoor practice facilities, but again we already have some. So what are we lacking?

One of the top 5 or 6 jobs in football?!? Come on man.

Tennessee is probably the 3rd best job in their division. Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, A&M within the SEC are better jobs. Outside of the SEC Texas, FSU, Notre Dame, tOSU, and Southern Cal are better jobs for sure IMO. Oregon is a better job. Michigan, OU, and Nebraska are probably about on par with Tennessee (great programs historically without a built in recruiting advantage). We can argue about Auburn either way I suppose

Sorry 'stache, but this isn't the case. SCe is on a historic (by their standards) run. Their fanbase is, rightly so, very excited about what Spurrier has done there. When I was last there in the late 90's, there were SCe fans giving tickets away outside the gates. Stadium was about 80% full with folks giving tickets away.

In all honesty, you need to wait until SCe goes into a slump (likely post Spurrier) to be able to make this sort of statement. And we aren't even getting into the difference of having over 20% more tickets to sell.

I was wondering the same thing. Obviously our facilities aren't as good as UT's but we certainly aren't hurting in that area.

In the past 5 years we've added:
New locker room
New baseball stadium
New athletics offices
New academic center
New video board
New tailgating area (Farmeres Market)
Improved a second tailgating area (Fair grounds)
New softball stadium
New tennis facilities

In the next 5 years we'll add:
New indoor practice facility
New practice fields
New stuff for the soccer teams (can't remember specifics)
Improved area immediately around Williams-Brice (removing parking spaces and replacing with brick, etc.)

I am a Vol fan and I agree with this. I think we are a top 15 job right now, once we get back to winning we will probably slip back into the top 10.

Bama
UF
LSU
Georgia
OSU
Mich
ND
USC
Tex
Org
Oklahoma

Are all ahead of us.

Tennessee, Auburn, Tex A&M, FSU, Clemson and Miami are right after that

South Carolina is probably in the next bracket with Arkansas, Wisconsin, Stanford, ect.

Somewhere way way down the chain James Franklin and Vandy are crying.

The Haslam Family, Charlie Anderson, Allan Jones, Charlie Ergen, Min Kao, and John 'Thunder' Thornton all agree that you are entrenching yourself further into the Simple Jack personna with every post you make.

No he didnt.

And Oregon is not a better job than Tennessee. Their location is horrible - they only have facilities and no tradition. And Tennessee currently is top 3 in football facilities so its not even that big of an advantage.

In my opinion, even as a Vol fan, it is hard to argue against Oregon's financial resources, facilities and ability to recruit nationally due to the Nike brand.

They also are going to be top dogs in their conference for years to come.

TN is at best the 5th best program in the SEC right now and as low as possibly 7th.

Oregon may have all these resources but it doesn't matter. They don't recruit at an elite level from those and Tennessee usually beats them out in the rankings - even with as shitty as we have been. The talent in their area is just awful.

Our facilities have become more of a pro for us than a con. They have improved dramatically. Once the indoor facility is complete, SC will be near the top of the conference.

We rarely go head to head with Clemson for a recruit. It is odd how that works out.

You'd really put Clemson on par with FSU and UT?

Maybe I am just biased, but why do you consider these better jobs the South Carolina. They both have more history, but SC has definitely evened the playing field with Clemson, and the amount of money we are getting by being in the SEC is only going to widen the gap.

If I was the coach at Miami, the lack of fan support would really piss me off. I personally think if Al Golden had the choice between SCAR and Miami, he would choose SCAR.
