I don't think anyone is trying to argue that we have anyone as good as VH3. We separate ourselves when we go to nickel and dime IMO though.

VH3 got abused by Amari Cooper. Cooper didn't catch a single ball against Tre White. Vernon only gets more recognition because he was a higher level recruit and gets picks. White locks down the wideouts to the point where QBS don't throw to him at all

Close - 6 throws to Cooper, with one catch. White was certainly the better style match-up against Cooper. If anything will hold him back, it will be his frame against the taller receivers (it would be interesting to see how he would handle a Julio Jones-style WR).

Honestly, I think LSU probably has the best secondary, but the SEC has several really good ones this year.

Next 4 - could possibly make a case for #1 later in the year, but not now
Florida
Georgia
Auburn
Alabama

Harder to gauge, but just cannot dismiss:
Ole Miss

Has the athletes, but not sold:
Texas A&M
Missouri

Recently it was the "Year of the QB" in the SEC. This year may very well be the "Year of the DB"

I think VH3 is the best DB but I'll take LSU's unit

tons of talent at all four positions and death for days

If I had to pick my secondary, I would take UF's corners and LSU's safeties.

To be fair, Cooper did seem to catch a case of the dropsies against us. Didn't he have like 3 or 4 pretty blatant drops?

Some guys can't handle DV

If somehow Cam doesn't go pro after this year, our secondary will be staaaaaacked next year.

For every big hit, he makes 3 or 4 horrible plays. Pay close attention to the angles he takes. He was destroyed against fast teams (Clemson and Auburn come to mind).

Probably true

Not true in all cases. Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia all look pretty good in the secondary. Alabama has a ton of talent and potential back there, but hasn't looked very good there recently. They could be there too if they've developed over the offseason.

I think LSU has the best DB core in the nation, but there's no need to just make crap up.

I doubt it... Let's just say they're both really great corners.

Tony Bridges and Tee Shepard aren't gonna get a lot of preseason pub but people will be talking about them after we leave Tuscaloosa in week 3.

Why? Its not like Bama has Cooper anymore. If Ole Miss beats Bama, it will be more about their front 7 than their secondary.

LSU might be the best if not the best in the country. No homer pick there. We are 10 deep. 5-10 could start for most in the SEC, fact.

No, you are not. YOu have may have 10 warm bodies, but if you think that you're 9th and 10th guys (ie, 3rd stringers) could perform at the same level as 1st stringers...well, you'd be an idiot.

10 deep where? I don't think we have enough roster spots to be 10 deep at any DB positions. Aq
