LSU has a deeper and better group of safety's. And White is a lot closer to Hargreaves than you think. Expect Toliver and Donte Jackson to become freshmen all Americans. Good luck go Florida though

Splitting hairs to pick the best, but:
1. UF - VH3 is the GOAT and shuts down half the field
2. LSU - Good at all positions in the back 4
3. OM - 2 new CBs but OM thinks they are NFL locks, safeties already proven as good players
4. MSU - Good CBs
5. UT - Cam Sutton is probably the 2nd best CB behind VH3

Arkansas' will end up being top 3.

VH3 got abused by Amari Cooper. Cooper didn't catch a single ball against Tre White. Vernon only gets more recognition because he was a higher level recruit and gets picks. White locks down the wideouts to the point where QBS don't throw to him at all.

I don't expect any of you to believe at this point, but Auburn may have the best starting 4.
CB- Blake Countess, 2 time Al Big Ten
S- Tray Matthews
S- Jonathan Ford, leading tackler in 2014
CB- Jonathan Jones, All SEC

To me, Tennessee is kind of on the outside looking in as it pertains to overall secondary talent. They're above every other SEC team, but below Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss at the time.
I like where we are. Cam Sutton is a lockdown Corner, we've got a few good options for the other corner spot. For our safeties, our starters both have 30+ games under their belt, but their backups are probably more talented and will get some solid PT this year. I like it because we should be very solid this year and it also sets us up to look good back there next season as well.

Well LSU is DBU. But Auburn does deserve to be in the discussion. We've got a good group, but our guys are getting overlooked because of the issues AU has had in the secondary since Tubby left.

Your guys are getting overlooked because y'all were one of the worst secondaries in the conference last fall baw and even monumental improvement would place y'all firmly in the middle of the pack rather than at the forefront.

Florida does have a solid Secondary
Ole Miss is still strong with Tee Shepard healthy
Mississippi State lost a lot of talent
LSU takes the cake

Auburn only allowed 4.5 more passing yards per game than Bama did last year, baw. Nobody is questioning any talk of them being one of the best units, but the same obstacle is somehow too much for AU to overcome?
And yes, there will be monumental improvement. We had a 2 time all-conference grad transfer CB, and a blue chip prototypical SS that already has SEC starting experience to go along with the all-conference CB and team leading tackler at S that we already had.
Lack of pass rush in 2014 also hurt the secondary big time, and that will be back this year in force.

Different games/scenarios. UF as a team was also a shitshow and 1 bad game doesn't mean VH3 is worse than anyone.
If you want to look at better data, VH3 graded higher than White according to Pro Football Focus, who does legit research other than apples and oranges comparisons.
Senquez Golson and Cam Sutton were graded higher than White last year as well, so according to professional analysts, White isn't even a Top 2 CB in the SEC coming into the 2015 season.

Florida. I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. I honestly would put Florida's 2nd or 3rd I guess.

LSU and it aint close. Just wondering, did any of the guys saying Florida watch the Bama vs Florida game last year?

You're probably trolling but Pruitt had absolute crap to work with and we were still one the top pass defending defenses in the SEC (2nd in yards, rating, Yards/Att).

I think it's probably a toss up between Florida and LSU with us in 3rd and Bama 4th. Bama's corners struggled last year but Bama always seems to have a freshman who struggles and then becomes an All American and 1st round pick so it would not surprise me to see the same happen with Tony Brown. I'd probably take Florida at 1 just because VH3. I know he got abused by Amari Cooper, but if in 2 years of SEC football people can name 1 guy that got the best of you, that's pretty good. When that 1 guy is one of the best receivers in SEC history, I'd say that's ok. LSU fans talk about shutting Cooper down, but he still had a good game against them as did many receivers in the SEC, (Jameon Lewis, Sammie Coates, Demarcus Robinson)
