It's amazing that Auburn made Paxton Lynch look so bad. Our defense typically makes true freshmen and mediocre quarterbacks look like Heisman contenders.

Interesting that South Carolina's answer can only be Greyson Lambert. Who set an all-time NCAA record completion percentage against their sorry secondary.
Odd, but true.

Cole Kelly was relentless.

Dakota Prescott accounted for 7 Td's and Christian Kirk became a household name against us.

DeShaun Watson is the best player Bama has played since Cam Newton.

I'm gonna go with Alex Collins and Arkansas' Oline. Our guys came out flat that game but even if they hadn't that OL just absolutely wore our DL out. Our MLB Darrin Kirkland Jr. (who I'm telling y'all is an absolutely special player and I mean that this guy is going to be a giant of the game if he stays on course both at UT and in the NFL) said that the Arkansas was the only game where he felt like a freshman. The experience and size of Arkansas' OL combined with the instincts, speed, experience, and sheer will of Alex Collins simply overwhelmed and ground down a young and emotionally deflated DL.
It was downright funny at times watching three true freshman - two true frosh DTs and one true frosh MLB all of whom are going to be NFL blue chips - try to stop Arkansas' run game with that jumbo sized line and one of the most underrated RBs in CFB last season.
Individually, they may not be the best but as a unit (the OL + RB) they were brutal.

Was probably the best player in college football the last couple years. Hard to believe what he did at a school like Mississippi State.

DeShaun Watson without a doubt.
This.^^^^
He came close to beating Bama.I say "He" because "He" was the player that we couldn't get to on pass plays. He kept escaping and running free.
When he did throw the ball he did so with incredible accuracy.
Look forward to seeing what he does this Season and wish him well.

His style is a bit different, but his performance in the natty reminded me of Young's vs USC. I was having deja vu.
True...but Young wasn't very successful in the NFL. He will still need good personnel, a good coach, and a good system. So many factors are required for NFL success at QB...many outside the control of the player.

Deshaun Watson is a much more advanced passer than Vince Young was in college, IMO. Vince Young was more of an excellent athlete playing the position, like Cam Newton at the start of the 2010 season.
FWIW, Deshaun Watson broke Nick Marshall's passing records in Georgia high school.
