1. 9 SEC Game Football Schedule.
-SEC games are worth more than watching a SEC team beat an FCS team. Teams with OOC rivalry games still get to keep those, and everybody still gets two warm up games.

UGA would still keep GT & Aub., so we only have 1 open game to schedule. Doesn't that sound fair to us?

2. Expand the SEC's Geographic/Media market share.
- We need to add schools in states/media markets that don't have SEC schools:
TOP 5 Choices: Oklahoma, UNC, UVA, KU, WVU

Kansas is considered the South.....much less East?

quote:

Your NEW SEC would look like:

SEC East
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee
UNC
UVA
WVU
Kentucky

SEC WEST
Alabama
Mississippi
LSU
Arkansas
Texas
Oklahoma
Kansas
Missouri

I believe that @ 16 teams, there will NOT be an East/West Division, but more of 4X4 pods.

quote:

With a 9 game schedule, you still get to pick 3 OOC games a year. Bama can still schedule Auburn, Tenn can still schedule Vandy, etc....

See above.....UGA would then only have 1 game to schedule anybody. (9 SEC, DSOR, COFH, Game 12)

SC has more fans, alums, money, programs

SC's Columbia campus has twice as many students as Clemson plus they have numerous branch schools that Clemson doesn't have. So yeah they have more fans and alums but that is hardly a case they are more known outside of the state. I think SC has more fans in the state but Clemson probably has more casual fans on national level.

not sure what you mean by more programs, SC does have professional level schools like pharmacy, medical, law schools but no need for Clemson to offer those two, those schools are probably 30 percent Clemson grads. Clemson offers most undergrad majors as SC and a few that that they don't

You are an idiot when it comes to marketing. Competitiveness might be good with that.

- Goodbye: Auburn, Miss St, Vanderbilt and aTm.
- These schools aren't needed to maintain the state's media market interest, plus they ARE NOT flagships, and everybody knows, the SEC is a Flagship Conference.

Map logic:
South Carolina mostly USC = flagship
Mississippi mostly MSU = kicked out of conference

I feel dumber for having read this. You're cutting A&M and Auburn, and adding KU and WVU? Wow.

Please tell me you don't have a job making any kind of decisions.

I think you might be on to something.

Your stated goals:

1. maximize revenue

2. keep geographic continuity

3. maintain academic levels

4. maintain perception

I think your "name of the state" university criterium is off. University of Ohio is shite compared to Ohio State. Same with Penn v. Penn State. I also think the Rajin Cajins are not as good as LSU.

So with that in mind, here are the changes I would make to your plan.

Florida
Georgia
South Carolina -- Clemson (much better school and athletic program)
Tennessee
UNC
UVA
WVU
Kentucky

Alabama
Mississippi
LSU
Arkansas
Texas
Oklahoma
Kansas
Missouri

Other than kicking out South Carolina and adding Clemson, it looks good. Well thought out.

That map was used for a separate point entirely in this thread....I already explained that and said we would need to do a valuation b/w MSU and Miss to see who has more fans that watch games.

B/c nothing that you are saying is true and you can't back it up with facts or figures. You're just basing that off a bunch of hurt feelings.

Why not? Pods make the most sense in a 16 team configuration.

By having pods you ensure that all teams plays each other, and that future unbalance in conference power can be partially balanced through creative scheduling. Pods also allow for a playoff system within the conference that can increase the prestige of the SEC winner in regards to the greater college football playoffs.

Obviously the SEC at 14 teams is kinda unwieldy. With pods the schools would play every other school in their pod and then face two other schools from the other pods (with those two teams from the other pod rotating every two years, so there would be home and away games) to form a 9-game conference schedule. Obviously nine games is another hurdle.....

I will just stop there. I hate pod talk too. But I swear to God if you ever triple bump this shitty thread again I will write a multi-post essay on pods so mind numbingly boring that it will make your children will be born with narcolepsy. I know you think you trolled the shite out of us or something when in reality all you did is piss off the cardboardboxer by posting the most inane realignment thread ever on this board.

Just let it die.
