I think we would do better if we got Virginia Tech. UVA alums kinda suck.....

That's a fair point. It would go a little against the flagship branding, but then again, if this is strictly about business, would the va tech football dollars mean more than any $ and academic credentials that UVA could bring to the conference?

If Va Techs sports viewership dwarfs UVA's, which it probably does, it might make more sense to bring them instead of UVA, and just abandon the flagship principle. Good point.

So you concede that Clemson is the flagship school for South Carolina. Glad to clear that up.

Why are you so mad? SC has more fans, alums, money, programs, exposure, is the named state school, etc....than clemson. Your lil bro is showing, cover that up.

your logic is flawed. True, You would never add a team without adding a new state.

No conference would kick out a school as strong as Auburn who has recently won a NC, gets great TV ratings and is becoming a National brand. Big 6.

Now Vandy and MSU would be a realistic discussion. MSU brings very little to the conference and swapping Oklahoma or Okie State for them makes a lot of sense as both conferences gain a new state. Similarly swapping Vandy for say a Virginia or Kansas could help both conferences.

As I said earlier, if you wanna make the most money, have the cross country conference.

I agree with that, a group of high revenue teams could create a super continental conference

Also by your logic, once a shiny new employee comes around, past employees should be laid off.

Depends on the circumstance. If I have 14 Sales Reps in 11 States, each getting $1.40 from each subscriber in every state (just b/c they were in that state)...couldn't I make more money if I got rid of 3 Old Sales Reps in states with more than 1 Sales Rep, and add 3 new states?

And who is going to come up the money to pay off MSU, Auburn, Vandy, and A&M?

You're right, that's where it gets tricky, nobody is going to willingly walk away from the money they're currently earning. We might have to end the SEC, and file a new charter with the new schools....or if there is a bylaw about voting out schools, just do that.

I never said this could happen even this decade, you gotta think long term on this. All teams have cycles as well. Kicking out Auburn has nothing to do with their past accomplishments, it's all about money.

By that logic, MSU stays and Ole Miss gets the boot (basing this also off your very legit map )

Here is a fact for your business decisions.

If they put it to a vote TODAY:

The SEC would vote unanimous (except for usc) to replace south carolina with Clemson. It is a better brand, better tradition, better natural rival, etc.

Just because Spurrier has had a cup of coffee in Columbia, it does not make you important. You are #2 in your state and everybody knows it.

Quit trying to be controversial.
