It's a business decision, not a personal one. Those 3 schools aren't needed to maintain the media market share in the conference in a 16 team format. It would behoove the conference more to add schools in states that don't have an SEC team already.

Facts? A map based on Facebook is now facts? frick the library, according to you Wikipedia is good enough!

Never go full retard, son. They aren't below the Mason-Dixon.....

You are telling ME to never go full retard when your STUPID fricking plan:

-Ignores conference GORs (you mention exit fees which are so 1990s)
-Kicks out initial SEC members, including an Auburn that is a WAY better program than USC
-Kicks out Vandy, which shows you lack an understand how conferences even WORK (here is a clue: you need a private school to keep things secret)
-Pushes a 9 SEC schedule that the conference doesn't want
-Brings in a Texas team that doesn't want the SEC

I love realignment, and I know more about realignment than almost everyone here. Your post has NO value in regards to ANY insight on realignment, and in fact shows such a low realignment IQ that all you should get out of this thread is that you should NEVER talk about the subject again so that your peers don't think less of you.

Good day sir

I can't believe people are actually arguing over whether South Carolina is actually a flagship school.

Who cares? They are still a shite program located in a state that is only significantly bigger than Arkansas and Mississiippi within the SEC footprint.

Considering Auburn games had the second highest viewership in the conference last year only behind bama games, the op should hold his breath until the SEC decides to kick Auburn out in favor of his shite team

sigh, you're taking this too personally, this would just be a business decision that would benefit the New SEC the most.

Do you not think facebook is good at getting data, why?

quote:

exit fees which are so 1990s)

exit fees still exist, the ACC schools have to pay $50M...but maybe they could be waived if we trade some teams. The ACC doesn't have a team in TN, the Big 12 will take anything they can get.

quote:

icks out initial SEC members

This has nothing to do with how good a team is, it's all about money...I made that clear in the beginning....

quote:

-Kicks out Vandy, which shows you lack an understand how conferences even WORK

...tell me more about how Vandy being private helps the SEC keep information confidential.

quote:

-Pushes a 9 SEC schedule that the conference doesn't want

SECvsSEC games earn more $ than SECvsFCS games, again, this is about $.

quote:

-Brings in a Texas team that doesn't want the SEC

Feelings change,I hope your's will too.

You are only seeing this as a football thing. The SEC would make more money in the years to come if they kicked out Auburn and took UNC. A new geo/media market of higher paying subscribers and basketball related money.

Nothing is personal, this is just business, and doing these things is going to help bring the most money to the SEC, but none of this would happen anytime soon, or even in the next decade. Maybe we can work out a deal with the Big12 or ACC to just trade some teams so nobody has to pay the buyouts.

One of the great things about this forum: random ppl speaking from a perspective of having invincible decision-making clout and wisdom.
You can be anything you want, guy; go for it.

And you are just trolling a program that probably killed your program's momentum with TCU's backup QB.

Facebook the company probably has good internal data. A map based on Facebook Likes is shite.

quote:

exit fees still exist,

And they are NOTHING compared to a GOR. The Big 12 GOR (aka the value of what any team would have to pay to leave) is over $200 million per team at this point. Exit fees fell out at the major roadblock years ago, GORs are the new thing. Hence my comments about your low realignment IQ.

quote:

...tell me more about how Vandy being private helps the SEC keep information confidential.

Public schools have to follow the FOIA, and therefore a conference made of only public schools would have to work in public thanks to FOIA requests. With a single private school in the mix FOIA doesn't apply and everything can be kept in secret.

If you knew more about realignment than my dog you would know that.

quote:

SECvsSEC games earn more $ than SECvsFCS games, again, this is about $.

I am sure this notion is based on some erroneous assumption that ratings for the biggest games or some such shite drive the revenue for the SEC.

Actually the big money is forcing the SEC to play OTHER Power 5 teams OOC. Nine games cuts the same pie into more pieces, Power 5 OOC grows the pie by giving the SEC Network more content.

quote:

u mad, bro?

Yes, but not because the reason you think I am mad. I am mad because I fooled myself into thinking that MAYBE, just fricking maybe, the Realignment IQ on the Rant was high enough that we would never again have to rehash the fricking ABCs of the topic.

But here we are and your thread is dumping realignment retardation all over the place. It pisses me off that I have to clean up after you.

Now that you are done dreaming, my reply.

1. Gonna happen some day, but not yet.

2. Go east to NC, VA and maybe FL for teams. OK brings nothing. texass drama...bad.

3. Never, just crazy but it's a free country...for now.

Texas, OSU, big USC, Bama, Notre Dame, Oregon,
FSU, Penn State, Michigan, FLA, and UNC and call it Super Duper Money Conference

What's interesting in the Clemson is the Flagship discussion, which is pretty established. Is that before joining the SEC no one had ever heard of SC or even knew they existed, and before hiring Spurrier, no one outside of the SEC had ever heard of SC or knew SC existed.

When you think of South Carolina football, Clemson comes to mind.

One of these days the folks here who slobber over UTex will finally understand that the horns want zero part of the backwards, racist, poorly educated SEC.

Auburn, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State have been in the SEC since the beginning. Your Gamecocks have been here barely 20 years. Sit down.
