What a charmed life. $1M habitat, beloved by people all across the state, 20K kids screaming at other kids to give you a BJ.
Mike the Tiger has it made.

Right? He's even told LSU to "GFY" when they ask him to go make a lap around the stadium

Getting BJ's. Telling his landlord to GFY. He has it figured out

Arky too low.
You can't resist this. You'll hum along at some point.

i haven't heard Auburn's band in a while, but in my lifetime, they are consistently the best in the conference. I am 48. (and 8 years ago, I was a man).

Definitely not ours. LSU and Tennessee have always had pretty impressive bands.

UGA and Alabama regularly bring a full band to Auburn.
Other than that, I can think of South Florida, Alabama A&M, and Clemson that brought full bands.
Alabama A&M went all out.
For a small school, they showed out and brought our whole crowd to their feet. It was definitely different, but awesome.
I read that Clemson is bringing their whole band back to Auburn in our two team's openers in September, so I am looking forward to that. Glad that they decided on doing that. We are supposed to do another "Navy-Out" to add to the atmosphere. I know it sounds cheesy, but still can't wait for how the stadium looks and sounds during these type of games. It is a great experience which really defines College Football as a whole.

quote:not sure why you think this. tiger band has been setting the standard in the conference since the early 80's at least, mainly because tiger band had a larger number of music majors than any other sec band. that was due to the higher stipend. other groups started catching on to that in the 90's and 2000's and closed the gap. when i was in college, million dollar band was the group we thought was closest to tiger band. they had a good sound and a good presentation. auburn was ok. they started getting better once troy breaux got there, an lsu guy btw.

It fluctuates, really.
LSU is really good, but Auburn and UGA have been good in those same years, if not even better.
Auburn went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland 4 years ago and won the Grand Prize out of 150 total bands.
UGA went to China to perform.
You don't hear us begging for superiority though.
You have a nice band, however, LSU. Props to you guys.

Yeah I saw the Alabama A&M show. It was really good, and I'd hate to have to play after them. I bet it was a stark contrast.
It's hard to compare HBCU bands like them or Grambling or Southern to SEC bands because we're just so different style wise. They focus more on entertainment and actually putting on a show more than we do.

LSU marched in the same Dublin parade a few years back. Golden Girls also went to China for the Chinese New Years' Parade

Very nice then. What Nation would not like to see those Golden Girls?
Nice representation!

Texas A&M band is the tops IMO. I love the War Eagle flying to the center of the field and the Gator Video at the Swamp is a pretty impressive entrance.

UGA, Bama, LSU and UT all get much larger ticket allotments, so they usually bring full bands
