Isn't it funny how quickly fans turn on athletic director's?

I've said that in defense of Joe Alleva from day one. Every great AD makes some bad hires here and there. sometimes circumstances arise and the coach just isn't a good fit at the school.

Tom Jurich is the only AD that comes to mind who seemingly hasn't made a bad hire. it's incredible what he has done for Louisville. that school owes him everything

The PG poll is trash. Kendall Rogers isn't running PG anymore, so that poll has taken a nosedive.

Regardless, the only thing that matters is being a top 8 national seed. I personally don't care if we are #1 or #8. Being a national seed is all that matters.

With regards to the A&M fans, I'd say both teams are neck and neck. A&M just beat a team 2-0 that we lost to 2 of 3 (extra innings) and LSU swept a team that A&M lost too. 3 weeks from now will be the deciding point, and I can promise you it will be the most hostile environment that A&M has played in to date.

Again though, being s national seed is really the only thing that matters.

Maybe they are a little less knee-jerky with their weekly rankings. Bad games and weird flukes happen in baseball, so not punishing a team for one bad week seems reasonable.

Florida also lost a midweek game and got blown out in 1 of their losses to Missouri.

USCe is probably ranked on name.

Missour is probably not ranked for the same reason USCe is.

And I can agree with this, but ranking on name alone makes it a bad poll and at this point I think A&M and Vandy are ahead of LSU. The pollsters are splitting hairs at the top of the polls, but A&M and Vandy have better RPIs and don't have a weekend series loss yet. That should be enough put then 1/2 while LSU is at 3/4.

Speaking of splitting hairs, you can tell who has been here before and who hasn't as most LSU fans don't give a shite where we are ranked within the Top 4 with 2 months left to the regular season and a 64 team postseason that also doesn't care where we are ranked within the Top 4.

Not upset, but at this point in the season its all we have to go by. Its a discussion point just like polls in basketball.

There's nothing to discuss other than the fact that you are butthurt that LSU is ranked ahead of you in a poll. How many LSU fans have griped about A&M being ranked higher in a poll?

You obviously don't know jack shite about college baseball if you are so upset about mid season rankings. It is cute seeing Aggies into baseball.

Except in that post I didn't mention anything about A&M.

Baseball polls have VERY little significance at this point of the season. You only need to be highly ranked or have a quality RPI when it comes to selecting locations for Regionals and Supers. Teams should be more worried about increasing attendance figures than polls at this point.

LSU will be fine and is currently among approximately 20 teams with a shot at a national title. Three of their five losses have come in extra innings...another was at Arkansas (which is a tough place to play)...and the other was in the fourth game of the season (midweek) which Coach Mainieri routinely plays a dozen pitchers and alternates players.

The best team in the SEC won't be determined by division record, conference record, or conference championship. Numerous teams will make the field of 64 and many (LSU, Vandy, Texas A&M, Florida, etc.) will likely host. We'll have to wait and see who makes it to Omaha. That's still ten weeks away.

"Some" Texas A&M posters may feel LSU gets a bump due to their tradition and six titles but trust me...this isn't college football. You don't claim titles just by showing up. You have to earn these.

Yes, because there are absolutely no "angry" A&M types in this thread...
I'd say there were more realistic types in this thread, of all fans, and that includes the OP (except maybe the "absolute trash" comment, which is really just an opinion anyway :)
And yes, I do believe A&M has earned their current ranking(s).

It hasn't been quick on my part. He has been a little too cheap when it comes to our facilities and I was lit that he didn't fire Muschamp a year earlier. I like what he has done for the most part, but he has been there too long and we need some new blood. He started as an intern in our ticket office about 40 years ago.

Good grief, arguing over all these baseball polls in early April. Everyone chill out, perhaps have a little pride that three different SEC teams are ranked #1.

Nah you're right. Perfect Game is a joke right now. Losing Kendall Rogers gutted their college coverage. I wouldn't be surprised if they start phasing out their college coverage over the next few years, limiting it to scouting.

While I hate to admit it and I think that A&M is due a reality check before the season is over, you can't argue with results. They should be consensus #1 right now with a 30-2 record.

Means "very little"?

LSU loses series vs Kentucky

A&M wins series vs Kentucky

I think the reality check happens too. As good as our pitching is, you cannot lose your best 2 starters and not miss a step. Its bound to happen. And as poorly as we play defense, it will come back and bite us more often. It already did with Mizzou.

I don't think you can compare the two series.

Had LSU's games against Kentucky been 7 innings LSU would have at least won 2/3. The third game, which A&M didn't play, was tied after 7.
