Texas A&M - 5-7 (2-6)
If this happens for the second year in a row, Jimbo will be receiving one hefty check around Christmas time.

“You've had some pretty good coaches and talent since then and you're in a bit of a rough spot right now with Coach Leach's passing and Arnett trying to change the offense.”

Certainly some truth there and I am glad prognosticators are sleeping on State. Very understandable given what happened in December.

A couple of positives though.
There is some continuity with Arnett being at State four years now. There is talent on the roster. Plus they are not radically changing the offense this season. It appears that some of the aspects of the AR will be be prevalent but the overall offense will be more diversified. So that should help there.

We will see what happens.

I rather have LSU undefeated, I don’t think we’ve had a matchup of unbeaten teams in Atlanta since 2009

No doubt y'all are going to have a talented and experienced team.

Appreciate your feedback, but ignoring Jimbo’s 9-1 SEC record during 2020 seems a bit offbase to justify a prediction.

Turning over the offense to Petrino is the key. Jimbo knows it. We all know it.

It’s not much better when you include 2020. You are 6-6 vs the bad teams on the road and 1-7 against the good teams. I’m definitely not saying that Texas is better, but rather showing the A&M has a hard time winning on the road. I’m sure Texas will have a hard time too.

Jimbo is 6-6 vs teams at or below .500 in the SEC

A&M SEC Away Wins vs teams .500 or below
3-5 Missouri in 2021
3-7 Mississippi State in 2020
2-8 South Carolina in 2020
3-7 Tennessee in 2020
2-6 Ole Miss in 2019
4-4 South Carolina in 2018

A&M SEC Away Losses vs teams .500 or below
2-6 Auburn in 2022
3-5 LSU in 2021
3-5 Auburn in 2018
4-4 Mississippi State in 2018
4-4 Mississippi State in 2022
4-4 South Carolina in 2022

Also strange that Sumlin was good on the road but sucked at home.

I am torn. On one hand, another 5-7 season will leave the program in a position that will be hard to build back from. On the other hand, it likely means we get rid of Jimbo sooner...

This happens and you can rejoice that Jimbo is finally gone. That is not acceptable as Texas joins the SEC. We will be rid of Trump and A&M rid of Jimbo about the same time.

I can understand that feeling. it’s a shifty place to be, but I think you guys might turn the corner this year. Lots of talent.. you could be really good if Petrino is given the keys and Weigman has a good grasp of the offense.

I still can’t believe Jimbo rolled out King last year. And Calzone the year before. Honestly Jimbo would probably be fine as the OC if he could find better QBs, but he doesn’t trust them or is a horrible evaluator. I’m still not sure how he stumbled across Winston.

What do you want for Evan Stewart?
Let’s make a trade.

It will be hard to stomach Jimbo's buyout, a lot harder than most Aggies on this board think.

However, I don't think they will have to worry about it since A&M likely goes something like 8-4.

Prolly so. But for the sake of discussion Jimbo can't wet the bed for another year. It would be bad and there is no excuse other than his method doesn't work. But it's a good thing that there is another heavy weight adult there with him in Petrino. And when you think about it, he should not be safe. And then they can fire whomever was the decision maker on the contract.

I think it would take a failure of epic proportions to have another 5-7 season.

I'd say 8-4 or 9-3.

LSU football record
5-5 2020
6-5 2021
10-4 2022
LSU being considered to win the SEC west this year.
That's progress. Jimbo should take notice.

There are many who are extremely high on FSU right now. He's one of them.

You did lose to them last year and beat Bama. I mean...last year.

Barrett has been a complete moron since his days at Bleacher Report.

He'll always be the guy that guaranteed an Ole Miss victory over Bama in 2018 the week before the game (saying it would not be close.)
Ole Miss lost 62-7 at home.
