Feel free to pump out baseball threads on this football site.

I promise I won't post about football in any of those threads, even though it's a football site. Says so on the web address.

Death, taxes and pundits picking Mississippi State to finish last in the West even though they have only finished last in the west one time since 2010, and that was 2020 which as we all know does not count.

How many times do they have to be wrong on this same prediction every year before it stops.

So he sees the West and East playing out this way:

West:
LSU - 11-1 (8-0)
Alabama - 10-2 (7-1)
Ole Miss - 8-4 (4-4)
Arkansas - 8-4 (4-4)
Auburn - 7-5 (3-5)
Texas A&M - 5-7 (2-6)
Mississippi State - 5-7 (1-7)

East:
Georgia - 12-0 (8-0)
Tennessee - 9-3 (5-3)
South Carolina - 8-4 (5-3)
Kentucky - 7-5 (3-5)
Florida - 6-6 (4-4)
Missouri - 5-7 (2-6)
Vanderbilt - 3-9 (0-8)

You've had some pretty good coaches and talent since then and you're in a bit of a rough spot right now with Coach Leach's passing and Arnett trying to change the offense.

Ags are the drunk uncle at Christmas time.

If you have high expectations, you will be disappointed. If you have no/low expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised.

best bet listed. OC came back. Transfer qb. Underrated head coach.

S. Carolina- Over on 6
Losses- Georgia, Tennessee, Mizzou, Clemson

second best bet.

quote:

Alabama- under on 10.5
losses: Texas and LSU

interesting. I will believe it when i see it.

quote:

Arkansas- Over on 7
losses: LSU, Ole Miss, Bama, UF

they were on their way to this last year until starting qb got hurt.

quote:

LSU- Over on 9.5
Losses- Florida State

as a fan i love this. hesitant to place a bet on it though. won a pile of money on LSU last years win total.

So we'll somehow lose to FSU yet beat Bama @ Bama?

I mean this is our most talented roster since 2018, and the roster is very experienced.

The personal also is fine, the offense will still pass more than it runs, and we never got full personal for the air raid anyway so it is not a huge swap back. Plus it is easier to go from pass to run than the other way around. The OC fits his system to the personal and he has proven that at multiple stops now.

I don't understand why people have this idea we are moving from the air raid to the wishbone.

Regardless, the defense alone will keep us out of the bottom of the west this year.

We go through this every offseason and every year, and with the exception of the covid year, they have been wrong about this for over a decade now.

Prior to 3 years ago I'd agree, just because precedent would show how unlikely that'd be to happen.

But now I have no problem with it. There's clearly no one on our schedule remotely in our league right now so it makes even less logical sense to pick us to lose "just because". We haven't lost a regular season game since October of 2020. Honestly at this point losing a regualr season game woudl be more newsworthy than going 12-0.

I think A&M is going to be pretty good this year, but that is assuming Jimbo actually lets Petrine run the offense. If he doesn’t, the wheels will fall off.

My guess for A&M: 8-4
3 Losses: @ LSU, @ Ole Miss, @ TN
1 Loss: Alabama or Auburn or Arkansas

Jimbo is 3-12 in away games at A&M if you don’t count the covid year since 20k fans isn’t a true road game

The three wins:
W 2018 S Carolina
W 2019 Ole Miss
W 2021 Missouri
those teams went 9-15 combined in conference.

They will beat Miami this year to go to 4–12 on the road under Jimbo.

That would rough starting SEC play 0-3. But it will be hard to win @A&M and @LSU and at home to UGA.
