He only won one title because he had to play Florida every year at LSU...

Since when have you been the face of the conference? For a few years wow.... Remind me what the early 2000's were like....? Were you the face of the conference when Auburn was owning y'all for what 5-6 years in a row.... LSU was never a rival in the mold of Auburn or Tennessee .
Back in the old days, most recruits came from their home state.
LSU were those Louisianna home boys with the funny Cajun or French sounding name. New Orleans was the sexy town back then and beating the LSU Tigers was a statement of pride to those Alabamians tired of hearing how cool NOLA was etc. Seeing the Bear whip Charley Mac, brought pride.
It was never like beating Auburn or Tennessee. There is real hate for those fan bases. Never any real hate for the Cajuns from Red Stick, just state pride when we beat them.
Bama fans have always had great respect for the Bayou Bengals, it just was never a rivalry and is not today.
I would say that if current games like the last few years continue for another decade or so, a real rivalry will develop.

I know I will be bashed by my Bama brethern, but for me personally, living in Louisiana for the last 11 years and having half my family being LSU sidewalkers for the most part, LSU is number 2 behind Auburn for me on games I want to win. #Rivalry

Historically its not a rivalry like AU or UT. Most of the hate is due to Saban being the coach. Bama fans can yak all they want about LSU not meaning anything. The Bama players jumping up and down pointing at their ring fingers and AJ crying his arse off after last years game proves what the game means to the team.

I personally hate A&M and ole miss more. I am glad we renewed our old to clary with the Ags. It will develop in to our biggest rival before long
