When Bama looses to LSU I don't nescessarily like it but can accept the loss. LSU is a consistently good team every year and if Bama looses to them It can be considered a "quality loss," if such a thing exists. Now if Bama looses to Auburn or Tennessee there is no getting over that butt hurt..I just don't consider LSU a rival, they don't even have orange as one of their colors. I and other Bama fans I know respect LSU and we don't loathe them like our real rivals.

Nevertheless. I agree.

How many looses will Bama have this year?

No, 20. LSU has beaten Bama more than Bama has beaten LSU since I've been alive.

The vitriol is definitely more intense on the LSU side of this "rivalry". I'm OK with that.

I'm 30 and didn't see Alabama lose in Baton Rouge until I was 17.
In that time you only saw Bama beat LSU at Alabama 3 times.
Since you've been born LSU is 10-4 @ Bama while Bama is 11-4-1 @ LSU.
ETA: Actually it's: LSU is 11-4 @ Bama while Bama is 11-4-1 @ LSU if you were born in 1982.

Until Saban arrived at LSU, Tiger Stadium was Bama's practice field.

I guess "pride" at Alabama is like "tradition" at A&M - it can apply to anything.
That said, Cholly Mac and the Bear were very close and had great respect for each other. And when Mac got the job at LSU, Bear wanted to have them on the schedule every year.
Also, many don't remember it, but in 1979 LSU played TWO teams ranked #1 at the time, USC and Alabama. Bama won that game 3-0.

I"d rather be everyones rival....SCREW it being just one team.
LSU is a big game for everyone it plays....it means we're good

The recent years (2004-to current) are a different animal to the general LSU v. Alabama series over the years. Ask Josh Booty about Marvin Constant.

Bama LSU Rivalry Question
LSU and UA aren't rivals in a traditional sense. On the other hand, you, my jizz cup swilling, goat humping friend, are.

This game is no different than what UT-UF was in the 90's. it's currently the premiere match-up but will fade in the next 5-10 years just as that one did because they aren't their historic rival.

I'm personally still kind of conflicted about the whole LSU-Bama question.
When I was a kid, the first game I ever saw in BDS was against LSU in 1990. The fans were passionate, and the few I came into contact with were extremely kind to me as a nine-year-old kid. It left a lasting impression on me and LSU has been my second favorite team ever since.
Now since Coach Saban has come to 'Bama, the amount of vitriol between the fans has been kind of uncomfortable, but hasn't diminished my respect for LSU's program any.
