Some of our fans have a problem. They thumped their chest when we landed Craig loston out of Texas and he didn't quite live up to the hype. I really don't care where a player grew up and no one else should.

And now that he's moved on, one thing I do know for sure: LSU would have been better at safety if they couldn have landed him. I know, you know it, and it's the reason you made this thread.

Actually, LSU needed a better safety in coverage. Last year Adams was a beast in run support and Craig Loston the year prior, and Eric Reid the year prior. Well Reid was much better in coverage than the other two, but he made plenty of mistakes trying to take up slack for the other guys. What we needed was a guy who could defend the pass well. Collins would not have helped us in that regard, so really, it didn't matter.

Bama doesnt have a draftable secondary player on their starting roster

Which is why I hope Saban says frick it and give a lot of playing time to Fitzpatrick, Sheffield and Thompson this year. That's essentially what Urban Meyer did at Florida in 2007. Play a lot of young players and let them go through their growing pains on the field so the team would be better in the future. Florida's defense struggled mightily in 2007 because they were so young but it paid off big time when they won a national championship in 2008 and came close to winning another one in 2009.

Bama's secondary has declined big time. Their starting corners are Cyrus Jones and Eddie Jackson. Enough said.

This is fricking retarded. We have two true sophomores that are 5 stars that haven't even gotten a chance to shine. And Cyrus Jones was exceptional last year. Do you just pull this shite out of your arse?

Yeah it had nothing to do with Tebow and Percy Harvin.

Jackson is a safety now, where he should be.

Cyrus Jones was one of the top corners in the SEC last year.

He most certainly was not. He had a lot of pass breakups because opposing teams were picking on him -- with success.

lol QBs did not have much success at all against Jones last year. You are literally talking out of your arse.

Ohio State put one past him, for starters.

And what did Tebow and Harvin win in 2007 without a defense to support them? Florida doesn't win a national championship in 2008 if their defense doesn't hold the highest scoring offense of all-time to 14 points. Their 2008 team was so dominant because their defense forced a ton of turnovers which put their offense in very advantageous positions to score points. And even after Harvin left and their offensive production fell off in 2009, they were still in position to play in the national championship game until the end because their defense was so good.

Yeah, one. It was an indefensible play. And your examples end there.

I'm not saying that the defense wasn't good. I'm really just saying that your reasoning is kind of dumb. Just because one team 7 years ago won a NC because they started young talented guys the year before, we should do the exact same thing now?

We'll see. He was the best corner on a bad secondary. Nothing more.

Believe Eddie Jackson moved to safety, but Im not sure it is SS or not. More excited for Hootie Jones.

Lots of potential with that kid.

Well he was named 2nd team All-SEC last season. He got beat from time to time but nearly as much as he did the season before.

Cyrus Jones was picked on the most last year. He had a lot of busted coverages and growing pains.
