Bama fans: With Collins gone, and the need to defend him fading. . .

Are Bama fans looking forward to having a safety that can cover on passing downs?
I don't have anything against the kid. Kid went where he wanted to go. Sure I ribbed him, but I ribbed him more because it got Bama fans goat so consistently. It was like Cam Newton for the Barners.
However, the kid was a clear liability in the passing game.
Losing him hurts in run support, but you have the front seven to negate that loss. And adding a true safety to the backfield can only help against the pass.
This reminds me of when the Cowboys got rid of Roy Williams, in a way. In that I feel this is addition by subtraction.

Do we need anybody that can cover when we play LSU?

Their safeties suck so bad Saban kept Geno Smith around after his 2nd DUI. He isn't even that good of a player

I hope we have a S that can cover on passing downs. Haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure what we're going to have back there.
FWIW I like LC's game. He wasn't perfect, but the NYG obviously think he did alright.

Show me on the doll where Landon touched you

I am not looking forward to replacing him.
And it's been over 3 years.
ETA: I know you're obviously just trolling, but posts like this make the board worse than it already is.

Good point. This is probably why Saban always took him out on obvious passing downs. He was just too much of a liability back there. I wish you could have contacted my G-Men before they made the pick to let them know what kind of mistake they were making. All those dollars going towards the scouting department, easily could have been saved with just a couple phone calls to Roaad.

Bama fans told us for 3 years that he was a 1st round lock. The fact he went 33rd shows that he's exactly what many of us thought he was, an in the box safety that's a liability in coverage.
He will have a long career in the league that will be eerily similar to Roman Harper's.

Just proves you do not know the definition of trolling...it is a legit question...your ETA ruined a solid response you made...

Believe Eddie Jackson moved to safety, but Im not sure it is SS or not. More excited for Hootie Jones.

Everyone remember the name....RONNIE HARRISON.
Ronnie Motherfricking Harrison.

Did he have some weak areas in his game? Sure. But he was also great enough overall to be the 33rd pick. How many college safeties are elite against the pass and run? Almost none. He was not Eric Berry, but it is unlikely that his replacement will be better than him this year. Collins was a damn good college safety.

I guess they didn't have the depth (go figure lol) to move him to linebacker like USC did with Su'a Cravens and Washington did with Shaq Thompson.
I remember LSU did that with Harry Coleman and it turned out really well. I think we need to do it with Corey Thompson now, but we've already moved Voorhies to LB.
All those players were much better in those positions.

Thought he did pretty well in coverage for a safety.
And now that he's moved on, one thing I do know for sure: LSU would have been better at safety if they couldn have landed him. I know, you know it, and it's the reason you made this thread.
