You know that from his 36 reps with the second team?

I agree, that's why I haven't addressed them in this thread.

That's a cool story and all, but I was responding to a question of why I thought he had more physical talent

Sounds like Harris and Simms had a lot of physical talent as quarterbacks, but were just stupid in your opinion. Would you agree with that?

Very, especially Simms. Those Texas teams were loaded...eerily similar to your Alabama teams.

Saban won a title with Matt Mauck, he will be fine with Coker. Trust me, Bama will be ok.

The Bama fans that I know are taking a wait and see approach with Coker. They want to see him after a month of getting 1st team reps in practice and with a game or 2 under his belt before they crown him or label him a bust.

top three or four quarterbacks in America physically."

Physically Calvin Booker was superior to Brandon Cox in every way imaginable but Cox was still the superior Qb. I'm not saying Coker is going to be like Booker but being physically gifted is only part of the equation. It is my opinion that a lot of the pundits are forgetting this simple fact.

Because if you do, it means FSU had the best 2 players in the country last season. But yet and still Coker couldn't get any PT.

Kind of like when Tim Tebow and Cam Newton were on the same team together, huh?

Most of us believe that he can be what we need this year, and that's someone who can hit some deep shots (had the arm to attack any part of the field), to pick up some 3rd downs with his feet, and to spread the ball around to probably the best collection of offensive skill players in football. If he can do that without turning it over to much we should win every game we play

You're right, but that's a two way street. It seems a lot of people outside of the Alabama fanbase are forgetting the talent that is surrounding Coker. He doesn't really have a tough job. There are pundits out there that would predict playoffs for bama without Coker.

Tebow wasn't the player on that team...Harvin was.

Is there some reason why we shouldn't be optimistic about Coker?

Asking if you believed the hype was terrible?

Didn't say he sucked.

Didn't say you shouldn't.

Only said be wary of coachspeak.

But whatever.

You then went on to define the hype
quote:

And it means Coker was better than Manziel, McCarron, Marshall, Mettenberger, Murray, Marriot'a, Hundley, Braxton Miller, Bortles, Bridgewater, Bryce Petty, and everyone else. Just don't buy it.

Most CFB fans know, being physically gifted as a QB is only half the equation.

The above hype does not exist. The most flattering hype you could find is not even close to the above statement.

eta- Braxton sucks

Are you trying to convince us or yourself? Bama staff and Fisher are all very high on this kid. I know this very difficult for you to understand but he only has to be reasonably good for Bama to make a title run giving our depth and surrounding cast. If he does live up to his billing and the OL gels, Bama will be wrecking shite.

Better question, if Marshall goes down, are you confident in Johnson?

Best backup in the league. You confident in Simms/Bateman?
