Just heard espn say that Baker Mayfield was a better Johnny Manziel. So who would you rather on your college team... Mayfield or Manziel?

Baker.

Not a druggie.
Not a loser.
Not insane.
Not a wussy.

What does that even mean?

As for who I'd want on my team ....
Johnny done messed up good when he left school early; but boy could that kid play some college ball.

Now are we talking about Freshman Baker Mayfield who washed out of Texas Tech or Junior/Senior Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma?

I'd take Manziel. I love Mayfield but he has had a better supporting cast. Manziel was magic, he changed a whole program.

A better supporting cast where?

How many 1st RD draft picks did Manziel have on his team again?

Johnny Football was much better but they have the same mentality. Baker is my favorite player since Johnny. Also they did tons of cocaine in Houston on Friday in 2016 and that’s a large reason why OU lost to Houston. First hand story from a guy that was there.

In what way was Manziel "much better" than Baker?

For comparison:

Baker Mayfield (2013): 218-340-9, 2,315 yards, 12 TD, 88 carries, 190 yards, 3 TD

Johnny Manziel (2012): 295-434-9, 3,706 yards, 26 TD, 201 carries, 1,410 yards, 21 TD

Baker Mayfield (2015): 239-395-7, 3,700 yards, 36 TD, 141 carries, 405 yards, 7 TD

Johnny Manziel (2013): 300-429-13, 4,114 yards, 37 TD, 144 carries, 759 yards, 9 TD

So, to properly compare.

In their first season:

Passing Yards - Manziel by 1,391 (even taking Mayfield's average over 8 games and stretching it to 13 and he has only 50 more yards than Manziel)

Completion % - Manziel by 3.5%

Passing Touchdowns - Manziel by 14 (Manziel still beats him by 6 if you stretch Mayfield's numbers to 13 games)

Interceptions Thrown - Mayfield threw the same number in 5 fewer games.

Rushing yards - Manziel by over 1,200. (Mayfield averaged just over 2 yards per carry, so I'm not even going to bother pushing it out)

Rushing TD - Manziel by 18 (see above)

2nd year player comparison

Passing yards - Manziel by 414

Completion percentage - Manziel by nearly 10%

Passing TD - Manziel by 1

Interceptions thrown - Manziel threw 6 more

Rushing yards - Manziel by 354

Yards per carry - Manziel by almost 3 ypc

Rushing TD - Manziel by 2

You can't use Mayfield's 3rd and 4th year as accurate data points.

Faster. More elusive. More accurate. Better arm.

Manziel ran a 4.65 40 yard dash. Baker is faster than that. More accurate? No evidence of that. More elusive? I think not. Better arm? Nope
