Mayfield didn't have Mike Evans but Manziel didn't have Mixon and Perine.

Lincoln Riley and Baker Mayfield are an absolutely perfect match though.

Mayfield's COMBINED rushing stats in 2015 and 2016 are:

219 carries, 582 yards, 13 TD.

Manziel's 2012 rushing numbers ALONE were 201 carries for 1,410 yards and 21 TD. His 2013 numbers were 144 carries for 759 yards and 9 TD.

Gotta go with Manziel.

Mayfield's numbers are inflated from playing Big 12 defenses.

Manziel had RB Christine Michael - 2nd round draft pick.
Mayfield had RB Mixon - 2nd round draft pick
Mayfield had RB Perine - 4th round draft pick
Mayfield had C Ty Darlington - UFA and washout
Mayfield had RG Nila Kasitati - UFA and washout

Weeeeeeeeee...........what superior talent he's had to Manziel.

Are we comparing players or actual STARTING RUNNING BACKS?

If it's the latter, Ben Malena was the starter both years of Johnny Manziel.

Also, Jace Amaro (2nd round draft pick in the 2014 draft) was Mayfield's Tight End at Texas Tech.

Hey loser, you said Mayfield had a better supporting cast at OU. You don't get to claim his teammates at Tech now to strengthen your argument.

Did I?

Don't see "at OU" anywhere in my non-edited post.

Also, like I said earlier...we don't know how many players from the 2017 Oklahoma Sooners are drafted because they're still playing at Oklahoma.

Baker mayfield freshman year, played in 8 games (at Tech not OU).
Manziel's freshman year, played in every game (at ATM).

What a stupid argument you're trying to make.

Manziel ran a 4.65 40 yard dash. Baker is faster than that. More accurate? No evidence of that. More elusive? I think not. Better arm? Nope

He lead the SEC in rushing. As a freshman. Lolz. Get over yourself. Baker is a gamer. As a freshman he didn’t win the Heisman or beat Bama. He’s lost to Houston as a junior. fricking Houston. The same team that got buttfricked by SMU. I love the Baker. Again, I think he’s the best player in college football, but get over yourself you fricking dweeb.

So Baker would need 35 TDs in 5 games to tie Manziel.

What you said:
"Mayfield has a better supporting cast."

So you're trying to say "has" doesn't necessarily mean OU?

If only someone would have projected Mayfield's 2013 numbers over 13 games using the data from the 8 games he played...Oh wait, let's look again at the numbers I posted.

quote:

In their first season: Passing Yards - Manziel by 1,391 (even taking Mayfield's average over 8 games and stretching it to 13 and he has only 50 more yards than Manziel) Completion % - Manziel by 3.5% Passing Touchdowns - Manziel by 14 (Manziel still beats him by 6 if you stretch Mayfield's numbers to 13 games) Interceptions Thrown - Mayfield threw the same number in 5 fewer games. Rushing yards - Manziel by over 1,200. (Mayfield averaged just over 2 yards per carry, so I'm not even going to bother pushing it out) Rushing TD - Manziel by 18(see above)

I'm sure he did. Baker isn't a dual threat QB. Manziel was. He's still faster than a 4.65 40 I can promise you that. And Manziel WAS YOUR ENTIRE RUNNING GAME.

Manziel failed to win a national championship. That's in the books.

Mayfield might, however. There's a chance, and I guess I'd take it over a sure failure.
