Isn't that a big indictment on your team though. "Oh we wont need Lawson. Well shite we almost lost to Jacksonville State, maybe we should have played our partially injured D lineman"

Auburn should be a good enough team to lose 1 defensive lineman and not play as badly as they did.Sure Lawson may come back, and he might be 100% IDK. But LSU is great at going against top tier D LIneman. They handled Clowney very well, and they also did well against Garrett.

This is definitely concern for us. But losing Matthews, Garrett, Holsey & Countess also didn't help. Our main point is there is a HUGE difference in our defensive play when Lawson is in & when he's out. It sucks that one guy has that big of an impact on our defense but not that crazy. Imagine our 2010 defense if Nick was knocked out. Would be ugly....

Its the same on offense. Like sure JJ played terribly. But the most basic of runs should be able to beat JSU. Just handing it off should be good enough against that level of opponent. So what makes Auburn fans think that their offense will do better against LSU? And im not ripping or anything, but i don't see a lot of well articulated scheme points from Aubrun fans on here.

Well part of the problem is we didn't do that. It was obvious Gus wanted to work on passing game. Which didn't go so swell. When we decided to ride Barber we ran it down their throats. We were also down our starting RT so we moved our guard out to tackle where he isn't as good of a fit. Still you would like to seem more push than we got at times.

As for hope against LSU, AU is still 2-0 & there is still a bunch of talent on this team. Personally I just have a hard time believing we are going to be this bad every week with the talent on this roster & the coaches on this staff. Our 2 biggest issues are injuries & bad reads. Both can be resolved, the question is will they? So of course as a die hard AU fan I think they will but won't be surprised if they don't and we get blown out.

I am excited about Saturday. We get to find out if this AU team is gonna fold or make the adjustments it needs to be good. No matter the result I do hope it's a good game as there was a time that LSU vs AU was THE most exciting game every year

LSU doesn't have superior talent on the o line compared to a healthy Carl Lawson. Again, you aren't following the context of the conversation.

Why don't you start dealing in facts or create a strong supporting argument.

Don't worry about them. Some people just don't want to have a football discussion. And on point, you are pretty good with all of the points that you made.

Add JR and Young missing on O. We were down 7-8 of our most talented players by half time. I don't want to think about this weekend if we play with half of our starters injured.

Lawson - DE (our best DE)
Garret - LB (our best LB)
Mathews - SS (our best safety)
Countess - CB (maybe our best CB)
Hoseley - CB (2 year starter)

I understand they may all be back but what are the assumed health percentages on these guys? If Lawson was in a boot last week, no way he is near a 100? What are Garret and Mathews out for? And was Hoseley's knee a minor deal?

Holsey is likely out for an extended period. Countess is 100%. No one really knows on the rest.

Lawson - DE (our best DE) - Don't know. He has been on crutches since the UL game

Garret - LB (our best LB) - Don't know.

Mathews - SS (our best safety) - Don't know.

Countess - CB (maybe our best CB) - He will play
Hoseley - CB (2 year starter) - Don't know.

Malzahn does not discuss injuries. So it will be game time when we know who is playing.

JJ will completely crack this week in Death Valley. 4 Sacks and 3-4 INTs easily.

34-17 LSU

Sadly, I wouldn't be shocked.

The wisdom of running at a healthy Carl Lawson is debatable. But it wouldn't matter if AU rolled out JJ Watt, Reggie White, and Deacon Jones. Miles is going to run it straight at them.

I really want LSU to come in with the same plan like you guys are saying. Try and run over us and make our Dline quit. Should be extremely fun to watch. For AU fans that is.

Lets take a look at this game.

QB - LSU. We have seen enough of JJ to know that he isn't where most fans thought he would be and Auburn fans want him to be.
RB - LSU. Fournette is a far better back, but Barber is a beast in that scheme. Although Fournette is better all around, Barber will possibly have a good showing against LSU's thin d-line.
WR- LSU. LSU has the advantage here, not because of the corps itself, but because Auburn's secondary is no where as good as LSU's. I can see Tolliver handling Duke himself, with no help over the top. That frees up Steele to do so many more things defensively to stop the run.
OL- Push
DL - Auburn. Carl Lawson is Carl Lawson.
LB - LSU.
DB - LSU. They have been stock piling nukes in this area for some time now. They are loaded and seem to develop them very fast. I wish Bama had Tolliver.

I know Auburn hasn't played well at all, but we're talking about Gus and Auburn here. Look, you have to believe this weekend is Auburn's season; especially after what they displayed last week. They need to not only win, but to look good doing it if they want to have hopes of getting to the college playoffs.

Despite playing awful, they will show up this Sat.; so let's not jump the gun here.

Not gonna argue that Lawson is better than anyone we have at this point in time, but we are better at DT for sure.
