Isn't that a big indictment on your team though. "Oh we wont need Lawson. Well shite we almost lost to Jacksonville State, maybe we should have played our partially injured D lineman"

Auburn should be a good enough team to lose 1 defensive lineman and not play as badly as they did.Sure Lawson may come back, and he might be 100% IDK. But LSU is great at going against top tier D LIneman. They handled Clowney very well, and they also did well against Garrett.

Its the same on offense. Like sure JJ played terribly. But the most basic of runs should be able to beat JSU. Just handing it off should be good enough against that level of opponent. So what makes Auburn fans think that their offense will do better against LSU? And im not ripping or anything, but i don't see a lot of well articulated scheme points from Aubrun fans on here.

Just my 2 cents

I thought we were talking about a player coming back that didn't play in that game. Please explain the relevance of this post.

Well you were the one talking about hypothetical situations of sacks and what not Brandon Harris back never touch the ground this season. JSU QB was sacked once on a wild scramble at the end of the game. Your dline causing havoc on us based on the facts are slim to none.

Because you made a statement about 1 player outlasting an entire offensive line. It was just to highlight that such isn't necessary for a DE to have a huge impact on the game.

You are jumping around and not sticking with the context of the conversation. It either means you aren't interested in a meaningful discussion or lack the intelligence to have one.

I agree with you and the only reason for hope is that Malzahn has proven to field good offenses and should be able to figure something out and that the QB play can't get much worse.

I think as a fan base we hope we are a different team than what we have shown, but we aren't confident in that at the moment.

It is extremely hard to have a discussion with someone who believes his extremely outmatched team will fair well against superior and deeper talent, because they will play a semi injured star on their defense.

Ok i understand that, there's obviously things that LSU fans need to worry about, but based on the games played so far I think it is fair to say that LSU looks like an all around better team at the moment. Will be a fun game to watch

Me thinks you have not been paying attention. It wasn't just Lawson.

Our 4 best defensive players are: Lawson, Adams, Mathews and Garret. Only 1 of those suited up Saturday.

In addition, Countess and Hoseley went out early (targeting in second quarter and injured knee first possession of game) - two starters in our secondary.

To recap, the following STARTERS on defense either did not play at all or played approximately 1 quarter:

Lawson - DE (our best DE)
Garret - LB (our best LB)
Mathews - SS (our best safety)
Countess - CB (maybe our best CB)
Hoseley - CB (2 year starter)

That is 5/11, almost half our D and we are not especially deep on defense as it is.

LSU doesn't have superior talent on the o line compared to a healthy Carl Lawson. Again, you aren't following the context of the conversation.

Ok, I didn't know that. What will those 5 players status be on Saturday?

That definitely changes things from the perspective of LSU O v Auburn D, which while healthy I think LSU can put up at least 21.

But, still the Auburn offense worries me, especially because LSU is known for speed(I attribute last year to Welter lol). I would honestly think Auburn's offense had a better chance against Bama. So can Auburn with JJ score enough is the question I think

We don't know. Muschamp has indicated Lawson, Mathews, and Garret will all be back, but none of that is definite IMO with Mathews being the most questionable. It is more likely than not they will all be back I "think".

Countess is fine. He was ejected for targeting.

Hoseley is probably out. Knee injury looked serious, was unable to put any weight on it.

Beckwith may injure your rb if you test our middle. The chance you have to move the ball is beating us to the edge.

Agreed. But based on the sample size and a long time as a cfb fan, I don't think anyone should be overly confident that this game will track exactly what we have seen so far.
