So does that mean Sumlin's job is more secure next year since it seems lots of Aggies count this as winning?

Not really. Maybe that's aTm's problem. We are able to acknowledge that what is being done there is unreal and something we will probably never see again. Do we want and expect to win? Absolutely. But we aren't chasing a once in a lifetime run.

7-6 at Auburn gets you on the hot seat. 7-6 at Arkansas gets you an extension

Honestly lots of coaches could have scorching seats midway through the season.

Arkansas- if they start at slow again, there is going to be massive agitation

Auburn - if offense continues to perform poorly, expect pitchforks

LSU- Les seems to be in control now. An anemic offense and a few losses and they will be howling for his head

Texas A&M - short of winning out, can his seat get hotter

Kentucky - no bowl game and someone is getting fired

Vandy - who knows

Well when you look at the barn's schedule.

Clemson
Ark St
A&M
L5U

If they get skulldrug by Clemson, which is very possible.

Lose to A&M and L5U, he might not be coaching after game 4.

Lol no.

But if Texas hires Herman after next season and we only win 8 or 9 games in 2016 his seat will be as hot as as 1000 suns.

Incorrect. Winless in conference and getting blown out along with all the team off the field issues got him in trouble.

No going 3-9 and completely losing your team by the middle of the season is grounds for firing. Gus hasn't lost the team.

That would be no fun!

there is some epic flame wars between some of the posters.

It makes me chuckle honestly.

The only time it bothers is me when "that guy" takes it too far.

In a lot of ways I think for Arkansas that TCU game may be the most important one, even though it is OOC. I feel the same way about the Clemson game.

Both will set the tone.

go ahead and chalk that up as a loss
Based on what, exactly?

Today is the very first day of your current HC's career in that position. Your DC was fired from his previous gig with the Chicago Bears for leading them to two of their worst statistical performances in team history. Your OC led the 9th-best offense in the ACC last year (for reference, Tech was 8th-best).

Maybe you're right, our program is currently in disarray and the wheels may have completely come off the Gus Bus by next November. But your program has far to many unknowns to be confident against any of their SEC brethren at this point in time.
