Auburn was very very beatable too
obviously. 2 years in a row the game came down to the last minute with AU fielding the most incompetent excuses of an offense the world has ever seen. I'm not sure why that makes you crow as loudly as it does. you barely beat one of the worst offenses in history.

Because all of that truth that you just said about your offense, is the exact opposite of what every Auburn fan was saying before the game.
Before the game Auburn was fricking loaded at every position, then Clemson beats that arse and all the fans back track lol and yes, being held to like 150 yards for the whole game is getting that arse beat

Yes, we are loaded at most positions, but that can't always overcome awful coaching. That's why we are all so frustrated with our offensive coaching staff and HC.

It appears the HC is still dictating the offensive scheme and playcalling.

Yes, unfortunately.

As an outside observer, I didn't have a dog in the hunt. Auburn just stunk up the field. Clemson on offense looks to be average at best. Their defense looked great because Auburn just is not good on the offensive side. Not having a running game kills the chance of your passing game. Awful, just awful.

No defense is 11 sacks in 1 game good, their offense was in meltdown mode
They may have two top-15 picks at DT

114 yards of total offense, though, is terrible for a top-flight FBS team.
Yes, but just about right for a sunbelt team, which is what auburn has become

Like I said, FSU has a better defense. Lucky for you guys, they will be on the field all game because Bama took out their QB.

That's a low blow, what did the Sun Belt do to you?

The sunbelt usually has pretty good offenses. Somebody that understands football would know that.

Auburn's offense would be lethal in the sunbelt conference, maybe in bama 6a hs football as well. Someone who understands football would know that. Also gus' boobies would get a lot of play there as well

No. I don't care if it was an All-Pro defense, an offense should still be able to do something. Not that.

Thanks for bringing some great discussion to the board.

Just to educate you outside observers about AU offense. First let's just crush the narrative that AU doesn't have talent at WR to get open. It's not hard for any SEC team to find fast guys that can catch a football. This ineptitude is all related to the scheme being run. Against teams with equal or better talent it has been completely and embarrassingly shut down the last 3 years. This is not the fault of one player or position group because they are not being in a position to succeed. Everything about Gus and his passing route tree and concepts is designed to get one guy open regardless of what the defense is doing. No layered route concepts designed to make defenders make a decision in zone and no routes designed to let a WR try and beat his man in man coverage. It puts a terrible strain on the offense against a team that can match AU's physical presence in the run game (which will happen at minimum 5-6 times a year). Clemson had 40 yards of offense with 3 minutes left in first half and they won the game by simply letting their guys try and win one on one matchups with fades, slants, and outs. That in turn, re-opened up their base run game with the QB just enough to win the game. Sometimes you have to be able to just call a 10 yard dig on the outside with your WR in man to man. Or just run shallow crosses or sit down routes to beat zone. It's just basic concepts that every high school and college in the US has except AU. If they continue with these same ideas you will continue to see AU struggle mightily to even get first downs let alone score points. I and other AU fans are melting because this has been going on since 2011 with Gus. Chizik tried to fix it in 2012 but he truly didn't have the guys to run a more pro style attack. This team has plenty of talent but needs a modern passing attack. Let Chip run his offense or Gus should be fired today.

Their D line is like Auburn, all super hyped up ESPN 300 guys that haven't ever really done much.
Did you watch Auburns D-line Saturday against Clemson? They did plenty.

FSU's defense says Hello!

I watched Auburn in game one. Their OL was horrible. I thought maybe they would get it worked out in time for Clemson. They didn't.
I also think Stidham is dealing with a real elementary play book on that team. There is no doubt he can sling the ball and hit people in the numbers. But so far, whether its on the OL or the offensive coordinator, I'm not sure. It doesn't look too good at this point for Auburn.

A combined 3 sacks and the most tackles that any of them had was 4. They had a safety with 11 tackles and a corner with 10 lol
