Stidham has happy feet and I think it's because he's never faced a defense as talented as Clemson's. Bad news for Auburn is he's going to face 3 more top notch defenses, at minimum.

I gotta disagree with you. Don't equate recruiting stars to actual offensive talent. Gus has not only struggled as a playcaller, but also as a talent developer. AU has good HB's, but where is the NFL caliber talent at WR, TE, OL, QB? It's just not that good of an offense, regardless of who is calling plays.

This such a pathetic little "look at me post" it's sad.

Even for Clemson standards

I also think it's just experience. Baylor was one read and a guy running open 25 yards down the middle. He's having to make reads and he had to do it with massive pressure and good coverage. He's never seen that before.

To believe that your offense (or Clemson's) won't be able to move the ball based on this one game is foolish.
Neither offense will be good against top level defenses. Auburn's will be worse than Clemson's.

You are not wrong, but it is a broken record at this point. AUs D is good enough for them to compete for a championship, but the offense can't score against good teams. We will lose 4 games.

He had happy feet against georgia southern. Either receivers aren't getting open at all, or he is just too reluctant to keep his eyes down field and release the ball, or we are calling plays that take forever to develop or, and I think this is most likely, all of the above.

Yea, I don't understand having zero hot route options. It makes no sense.

Stidham looked shook every time he dropped back. The announcers even pointed out he has no trust in his oline and gets rattled easily. Shame he's stuck under Gus, cause he has all the talent in the world. If LSU and Mississippi State beat Auburn soundly, it'd be interesting if Jacobs pulls the plug on him early and let's Steele take over.

don;t think it was so much a Stidham problem as it was a WR and TE problem. He would drop back with time, and then buy a little more, and either he can't see downfield or they are not getting open. I think it is the latter.

We do not have a TE

Kent State had more yards. Yeah, Clemson's D is elite. But our offense is statistically worse than Kent fricking State.

Anyone could watch the first quarter of Auburn Georgia Southern and know their o line was going to be in for a long night vs Clemson

Bowl told me some guy named Sal or Cal was going to be the best tight end in the conference.

However, don't fool yourself. Every team with decent athletes on defense has done this to us since Nick Marshall left 3 seasons ago. That's why we are melting. We tried to convince ourselves it was the QB but it's not, it's Gus. 100% Gus.

We did you guys a disservice by rolling over last year and letting Auburn run up a ton of yards and points on us. It convinced folks that Gus had got things going in the right direction when it was more a case of our inept defense (worst in modern football history on YPC!) once again collapsing in a game.

Auburn has the talent to win big this year. Maybe you aren't quite as loaded as Bama, but hell who is? The problem is Gus and his stubbornness could spoil a potentially great season for y'all.

The worst thing that could have happened was that month stretch where Auburn and Pettway feasted on terrible run defenses (Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State).
