I am not sure there is a whole lot of regret in not getting Smart.

Gus started strong then really struggled, but this year was a positive sign.

And as far as beating Alabama, I think he is the only HC in the SEC right now to have done this, right? Although maybe Smart gets a chance if things work out in January.

Next year I would favor Alabama, but if he wins, I think he will be 50/50 against the best coach in the SEC in at least a generation.

The recruiting Smart is doing is amazing. Simply amazing, but I think we should probably hold off on crowning him until he at least has a few more years.

A lot less than you did with Richt. We fired a NC coach 2 years after his title.

UF is back, so they fired their head coach? .

What? You said uf will be back. To what? They have sucked since spurrier left besides a few years.

This is about Gus and his likely 20 losses in 4 years. Chiz is irrelevant to this.

But what a few years they were.

From 2006 until now they have had three 13-1 seasons and one 11-2.

I said since 2002. That's 16 years. Most had 5 or more losses.

Try to explain that stupid claim. The math doesnt lie:

The math basically says the first two seasons of each coach's tenure is identical. You're in here telling me we settled for mediocrity while y'all have the greatest coach ever. Maybe that will enlighten you, if not, there's no help.

Are you retarded? They won 2 fricking national championships SINCE Spurrier left. If you think that's nothing, what the hell does that make UGA?

Yeah I don't think your opinion is fair here.

They won two natties during that time.

Most teams would kill for that.

No, I am not. They have had 8 seasons of 5+ losses in the 12 seasons without tebow and the others weren't special. That's their norm.

The LSU loss was inexplicable but Gus is usually good for one of those a year. Otherwise he lost to the defending champs on the road and knocked off two #1 teams back-to-back. The SECCG is just a tough oe because it sort of reminded me of LSU in 2011......just tough to repeat those performances against a good team, especially after a brutal Iron Bowl. I don't read much into that loss

Is that really a bad year?

I think it was a very positive year.

Like you said, the SEC is always tough. Hell the fact we played 3 of the 4 teams in the playoff and still only had three losses is pretty impressive.

The LSU one stung, but it was still a good season.

Next year will be quite the challenge though.

I wish amen corner was split. I hate both those games being away. Another reason I dislike the expansion.

The moment richt was fired, was the moment we quit accepting mediocrity. When is the au moment?

Year 1 is always a mulligan, be it filled with miracles or bad lucks. Year 2 is much more relevant.

Boom went 11-2 in his second season.

Also, I get you are stuck on the five loss seasons, but honestly if the trade was for a national championship every six years, most teams would take that.

So if Kirby loses 4 games over the next two seasons you want him fired.

Exactly. If Kirby somehow wins the Nc this year he will be as good of a coach as Gene Chizik. Well, not really since Chizik didn't lose a game during his NC run.
