But make no mistake in what I'm saying, it's bandwagoners. It has nothing to do with some divine right to winning that gumps believe the Tide are entitled to. It would happen to any team that was lucky enough to fall arse backwards in to Saban.

Yes, yes, my little friend. You were quite clear in your post. I still say it is a reasonable alternative to Miami and several other here: "argh! stupid bammers within the state are the only reason Bamma's AD makes any money."

I have seen it in Alabama, but nowhere else. The Bama fans have half their wardrobe dedicated to Bama items. It is almost a tax on the ignorant and poor of the state.

I don't know if you'd call it Bama items, but I do have a good deal of Houndstooth clothing. This is a nation wide trend though and has been for the last 5 years. You see a lot of people that do not live in the state of Alabama wearing houndstooth.
I lived in New York city for a while and there is a huge Bama following there. There is a club where everyone meets on game day to watch the Crimson Tide. Some are Bama alums that have moved there and a lot are people from New York that like football and have become fans.

God I love all your jealousy and anger. When I say never change, I really mean it. You're a treasure trove of laughs.

I do not think any AU fan is jealous of a fanbase that their wardrobe consist of mainly T-Shirts and baseball caps. I just wanted to shoot down the myth that Bama is a Nationwide Product based on Merchandize sales. The demographics of most Bama fans (mainly in the Southern States) would show the t-shirt to button down ratio to be higher than most other teams. I laugh at any bama that lives in the State who argues otherwise, all they have to do is go to the local mall and see the proof.

I live 30 minutes from Auburn. There are just as many embarrassing Auburn fans as there are Alabama fans. If you don't think so, you're lying to yourself.

EDIT: just go to baseball practice for an eight year old. As many orange and blue tshirts as there are Alabama tshirts.

Well, if that was your intention in posting today you have certainly failed horribly. Everything else in your post here is extraneous and irrelevant to the point of the OP.

Based on auburn having a smaller fan base than Alabama they have created this phony elitism with it to try and compensate. I've never understood it.

Largest alumni base for UA is in NYC if I'm not mistaken. Outside of Alabama of course.

Basically his 'argument' is this: "Despite being number 2 in national sales of merchandise, Alabama is not a national brand due to me personal observation that their fans in the south are rednecks."

That is what he is saying! It is amazing someone could even claim he has provided a valid argument here, much less "shattered myths."

It really is baffling. Auburn is a great school with a rich football tradition, so not sure why they have to claim such superiority in this instance. I don't think many Bama fans would deny we have more "sidewalk" fans. Hell, the original link in this thread proves that. But I don't get how that's a bad thing as generally when you gain more "sidewalk" fans it means you're winning games and championships.

The eyeball test. The bammers have an asshurt over this t-shirt issue, but most know deep down it is true.

coud not have said it better myself.

They would never recognize that Bama's success has helped them (more than anything) become successful. They have a measuring stick across the state from them that has set the standard.

Care to respond to the other posts where your ability to even form an elementary argument has been questioned? You have really embarrassed yourself here and inquiring minds still want to know how you "shattered the myth" that Bama is a national product.
