If the sample size is two games, as a conference, the SEC really blows.

I thought it took three games for anything to be considered a streak...but carry on.

I don't know about opposing fans, but it sure is nice being a relevant brand.

Is that why we don't have the lottery here? Bama merchandise takes it's place?

Lottery... income tax for those that don't pay tax.

coming back to the original discussion....

I can bet that Women's Gymnastics and Softball also pull a good amount fo revenue in.

Each sport has regular sellouts.

I have seen it in Alabama, but nowhere else. The Bama fans have half their wardrobe dedicated to Bama items. It is almost a tax on the ignorant and poor of the state.

I've seen this too but they're wearing orange and blue.

If they had a competent basketball coach it would be higher than that. That's what happens when you're the biggest AD in the richest conference.

When 95% of the state of Alabama will buy at least a UA hat, shirt and bumpersticker, I'm not shocked they did so well

So the rest of the state is about 4% AU and 1% Other (Troy, UAB, etc)?

No wonder AU athletics lost money last year.

Awesome for Bama. Cool! I was just stating an observation. I see maybe 4-5 Auburn things here to 1-2 Bama things per month. Not that big of a deal. I never said either team was more prevalent than the in-state teams which is 99.999% of teams represented here on shirts, hats, and cars.(Carolina/Duke/NC State/Wake Forest/ECU).

Don't forget App State, surprisingly you see gear for that school all over the state.

I don't know whats going on over in Greensboro, but I live just outside of Raleigh and I see a lot more Bama stuff than I do Auburn. Then again we tend to pay more attention to the team we support over others. That is most likely why all of these anecdotal stories, about the volume of what people are seeing, don't really mean much.

Same here - I live in the middle of Raleigh and while I have seen some Auburn stuff, there is much more Alabama stickers, caps, etc. In fact, one of my friends here (from NY) has a boat named "Roll Tide" and another house that I visited had a cool collection of Bear Bryant memorabilia (and they are Duke fans).

There is no doubt that this is the truth.

I have lived in Alabama 3x, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio 3x, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and Virginia 2x. I have also spent a large amount of time in Washington, Oregon, and North Carolina visiting family.

Alabama is most certainly a national brand. Bama fans are everywhere. The only place I personally have been that had as many AU fans as UA fans was Hampton Roads area of VA. Lots of AU engineering grads there working in the shipyard.

It makes sense that AU grads would have to join the Navy after school

So does nobody here understand the difference between revenue and profit? Revenue is the amount of money generated, not taking costs into consideration. They didn't profit $143 million, they actually only profited $34 million because they had $109 million in expenses. Don't get me wrong $34 million profit is great! But let's not get these numbers confused.
