My son attended college when Matt was there. He said he went to a frat party Matt was at and Matt was playing video games. He thought Matt was a nerd....ha

That's all I got on that, but once Matt got away from home and made his own money,he may have made some bad decisions...I know I did...

One mistake can mark us for life and erase all good things in some folk's eyes.

I won't judge him as he seems to being well these days.

Matt didn't party too much with the crowds in college. He hung out with Jared Hicks, Clark Moore, and a few other close friends.

Matt's problem was motivation. He was so athletic it made up for other deficiencies. Had he worked them out (and had a better shoulder) he could have been an all time great. He isn't.

I'll give an example. I played with Matt for 3 years in college. I run a 5.0 40 on my best day. I don't think he ever beat me in a team sprint.

In many of his college games, Jones started as a WR while a who's who of shitty QBs started. Arkansas would fall behind, at which time Jones would go under center and try to make a comeback.
I feel like this is a page out of our historical playbook.

Matt Jones was awesome. If he went to a power program he could have lead a team to a National Title.

If he'd have played for a head coach with half a brain and some semblance of an offensive mind, he'd have done much more here than he did.

I often think Matt Jones just came along about 5 years too early. Spread option offenses weren't the norm when he was in college, and he played for a moron of a head coach with a terrible offensive mind. It wasn't until after he graduated that the spread option became more widely utilized. He was Cam Newton before Cam Newton, only faster.
