So Iowa State is better than Okie State and y'all think they are the number #2 team in the country?
Yea, isn't that what we were talking about?

Kind of diminishes what LSU accomplished in BDS.
Nope. We beat Bama in their own house. Nothing can diminish the awesomeness of that.

With your logic, y'all better take care of Georgia in the CG or voters might not think your win against bama is a good win.
Good advice. I'll relay it to CLM, JJ, and the rest of the crew.

Reilly said that a conference champion should play LSU, and went on to suggest Stanford and Boise, who will not be conference champions. If you can't see how stupid that makes his argument, I can't help you.

I am not begging, just pointing out how idiotic Rick Reilly is.

C'mon guys. I am fairly sure everyone understands his point regardless of your personal belief. You are choosing not to understand because his opinion differs from your opinion. At this point there is only one fact regarding rankings and that LSU and UH are the only undefeated FBS schools.

This is because, apparently, no conference can really play football in this country except the SEC, which invented the sport in 2006.

Hide LSU Hide

Hide from what, big guy? Hide from a 12-0 record? Hide from beating No. 2 Bama at their home? Hide behind a defense that didn't allow Bama inside of the 17 yard line? Hide behind a beat down of No. 3 Oregon team at a neutral site? Hide behind a beat down of No. 16 West Virginia at their house? Hide behind a beat down of No. 3 Arky?

What do you want LSU to hide from? Who gives a shite who we play? 12 have tried, 12 have failed. No reason this will be any different. Different team, same result.

Why is losing to the #1 team in the middle of the regular season an automatic disqualifier for the #2 spot at the end of the regular season?

Since when do we measure teams by quality of losses?

Let me preface this by saying that I could care less who we play in NO.

If Okie State, Bama, Va Tech, and LSU where all undefeated, we would rank them by their wins.
Provided Okie State, Va Tech, and LSU win this weekend it would look like this:

1)LSU
2)Okie State
3)Bama
4)Va Tech

You never ask "Who'd you lose to" first, it's always "Who'd you beat".

It's amazing how many LSU fans are agreeing with an article that is bashing the SEC...

Whats up Green Chili Tiger?

I have to say, I'm having more fun trollin' this board than a gump who found dentures.

According to Rick Reilly, the ONLY team you can lose to that disqualifies you from any consideration for the BCS Title game is the #1 team. A team could lose to USC or TCU or Oregon and still be qualified for the #2 position at season's end while a loss to the other BCS Title game participant is unforgivable. Think about how insane that logic is.

I would look at both honestly, people are always saying how its the "full body of work", and to me a loss to Iowa St., a 27 point underdog, puts Okie St. below Bama despite them having more "quality wins"

On this I'll have to disagree.

Good teams can have one bad game and decent teams can have one great game (and in case you are wondering, Bama = decent team).

Okie St. had a bad game. Bama played a good game and just couldn't cut it.

Yeah I'm sure Saban called up ESPN and said, "look mfers, y'all are going to interview me before, during, and after the SECCG. Aight. Got it? Good. :slams phone:". Is that how it went down?

Your entitled to your opinion of course, but really, is it more difficult to have quality wins or quality losses?

And technically, based on the opinions of gumps on this board, you guys lost to the #2 team at home not the #1.

You guys outplayed us up and down the field the whole game and ended up beating yourselves, remember?
